Had a similar experience, it was more of a dinner party affair but unbeknownst to my OH and I it was vegan.
I just have memories of really insipid blinis with badly made pesto.
Anyway, we decided to pop into the Chinese takeaway on leaving their house & subsequently found all the other guests from the party were in there too awaiting their orders
Anyway, despite my dry wedding being somewhat painful, I have to say, hand on heart that this was my worst wedding experience of all time.
What really pee's me off is that every party/wedding or gig I've done with my band at a party/wedding, there is always a section for vegans but these didn't allow for us normal people which I thought was really bad.
We cater for them, they don't cater for us
it sounds like your experience didn't also cater for normal eaters but you would cater for them.
