Merc screwing it, overusing the softs to try to get onto supersofts, they'll jump to supersofts, be fast but lose the pace towards the end. Should have stopped 3-4 laps ago onto softs and go hell for leather to the end with plenty of tire life to do so.

Sadly, having a team to race against is showing up Mercedes strategy team as astonishingly poor.

Hamilton told he will need to overtake Bottas on track.

if you mean get the lead it wouldnt, but he woud be just a few seconds behind him now. He would be in a far better position than now.

He'd be a good 8 seconds behind. Was 6 seconds behind + 5 seconds. Undercut gets him maybe 3 seconds.

He'd also be stuck behind Raikkonen and Ricciardo, be it temporarily.

Hams Softs newer than vettels so should catch up with vettel I think

I'd put money on him not catching up. Using softs going 1-2 seconds faster he'll likely not keep up this pace at all. LIke I said, 2-3 laps earlier he would have been 4-5 seconds closer to Vettel when pitting. Insane to keep him out so long just to go onto the softs.
