Baldurs Gate - Steam & New Version Thread

I can see this being fail or massively overrated.

Can't see what's wrong with BG 1+2 with the mod to make it higher resolution.

While Beamdog's Trent Oster has talked about potentially doing a number of Enhanced Editions after Baldur's Gate, a tweet announces Baldur's Gate 2: Enhanced Edition will be out in 2013 - as well as no GOG version at this point:
#bg2ee will be in 2013. We have no plans to put the game on gog. The Jellybean encryption sounds interesting, but we are hard up for time

:o

lol how have they managed to mess this release up? If it was on gog or steam it was pretty much an instant buy. Why mess with a winning formula :/

Since its initial release in 1998, Baldur's Gate has entertained millions of fans around the globe, and has received countless awards. This classic saga of mystery, intrigue, and adventure has set the standard for Dungeons & Dragons™ computer role-playing games ever since.
Running on an upgraded and improved version of the Infinity Engine, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition™ includes the entire Baldur's Gate adventure, the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack, and never before seen content including a new adventure, and three new party members: The Cali****e Monk Rasaad yn Bashir, Neera the Wild Mage, and Dorn Il-Khan, the evil blackguard.
Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition for Windows contains the following enhancements:

  • New Adventure: The Black Pits
  • New Character: Dorn Il-Khan
  • New Character: Neera the Wild Mage
  • New Character: Rasaad yn Bashir
  • A new collection of player character voice sets
  • Native support for high resolution widescreen displays
  • Over 400 improvements to the original game
  • Improved multiplayer support, with connectivity between all platforms
Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition for Windows will be available as a direct download from Beamdog, with no client install necessary. Pre-purchasing will allow you to preload the game, so you can access it immediately after release.

They are a bit retarted in terms of releasing it and will lose a massive amount of sales as it's only being sold via their client. That means no greenmangaming, no steam, no gog, no origin

if this goes on steam or origin I'll buy.......if not I won't because I always lose my other site downloads over the years due to poor memory.
