Cesc Cesc Messi?

Would that not be DM's eleven? :p

As for the Messi an 'all time great' I'll stick to what I've always said. He's got everything to be one of the all time greats, not one of the greats of this generation, but an all time great along side Pele, Maradonna, Di Stefano et al. I'd still rather judge him at the end of his career or rather, in several years.

He needs to win a World Cup too :)

Pleased he won it though.

I'd like to see Messi do it in another team in another country. As unbelievably good as he is, he also has two of the other best players in the world Iniesta and Xavi helping him along the way meaning the opposition has more than just Messi to worry about. I'm not saying Real Madrid's other players are poor, but they're not Iniesta or Xavi.

Past winners did it in different countries for different teams. I would love to see Messi do it.

I don't think they matter as much, I've seen Barca with all 3, without Iniesta, without Xavi and without Messi, and Barca are only Barca when Messi is on the field. Xavi and Iniesta can be replaced and it's not that noticeable that they're out. When Messi is out though everything changes

Yup, guy can't defend, I wouldn't call him violent at all, not like a Pepe or someone, just ridiculously over enthusiastic :p He's a bit of a beast and constantly fouls people, has looked absolutely gash against Barca every time, gets sent off too often, doesn't get sent off as often as he deserves, does look very dangerous from set pieces but, terrible right back, average CB at best.

Sergio Ramos: La Liga Ch. League Copa Del Rey

Games 16 5 1
Yellow Cards 4 0 0
Red Cards 0 0 0
Fouls Committed 31 8 0
Fouls Drawn 22 2 0
Steals 189 42 6
Crosses Into Big Box 12 0 0
Total Passes 1070 329 17
Passes Completed 955 303 17

They guy has been rock solid 1st pick defender at the best National team in the world since the age of 18

Ramos, Rooney, Vidic, Pique, Xabi and Iniesta shouldn't be in there,

Could pull something similar for Xabi and Iniesta probably if i really wanted to but can't be bothered.

Unless you were joking, your post makes no sense.

Pique is just a different type of CD. His skills to pass the ball forward and his good control and dribble (for a defender) are what make him so valuable for the team. Barca do not need the Lescot type defender, they need people who can control and pass the ball. This is their philosophy. While i agree he should not be in the team of the year, i find it very difficult to find someone who would replace him in Barcelona.

In my opinion this is a good candidate for team of the year:
---------Casillas---------
Alves, Ramos, Kompany, Bale
---------Alonso----------
-------Xavi, Iniesta--------
--Messi-------------Ronaldo
--------Van Persie---------

Subs: Heart (unsure), Vidic, Pique, Yaya Toure, Sesc, Ibrahimovic

You'd have to be an expert in European football to be able to name someone with 100% confidence, Baines though was the best LB in the PL last season. Marcelo looked handy for Real Madrid (although whilst he's hated on this forum over on the CAF they're proclaiming him to be the best LB in the world). Coentrao got a move to Real Madrid off the back of his form for Benfica.

I think it would be fairly safe naming any one of those above Bale

Laughable team. That aside can I ask who you support?
