Try the Coop, it is the only bank that I have used where personal service still seems to be a thing. I have two current accounts with high street banks and my personal favorite is the Coop. They do not have many branches though.

not a very good bank if you can't open an account in the branch imo
yea it shows you how much support you can get in a branch if you ever need it, None.

half the banking peoples jobs went because of them encouraging their customers to do everything online.

I bet they thought it was great when they were getting paid to sit around with not much to do. too short sighted to see their jobs would go by.

Imagine going to a branch to make a deposit and being told, go to the post office.
that's the scenario coming up, you can make instant deposits at any post office for those un aware.

I regularly use the post office to withdraw funds from an RBS account in the denominations I need

Got to be a joke surely. People can't really think you can just open an account by giving a name and email address and they'll just believe you.

I opened a Monzo account pretty much like that. Entered my details and then had to use the app to send a video of me saying my name. 4 days later card came through door and account was activated.

How is that even remotely the same as a name and email address. Lol

My Stirling account was a photo of my driving license and a video of me saying a specific sentence.

I said pretty much, not exactly. I'm sure you're intelligent enough to understand that.

At no point was I asked to verify via any form of evidence that my details were correct. In fact my forename is incorrect as I autopiloted and used the shortened variant.

Apply online scan? I've applied for numerous bank accounts over the years, not sure there's an issue there.
