** Bank holiday Special Edifier Spinnaker 2.0 Speaker System - Black £89.99**

What's the height of these @Something Else ?
Good to hear that the bass is OK. Reading that it had an output port for a subwoofer made me think that the built in bass might be lacking.

Does anyone know if the warranty is with OcUK or the manufacturer?

Hmmm.. do I buy or do I not buy. Currently have Logitech LS21 speakers, I know they're low end but they've served me extremely well over the years.

Oh dear... dont tell RJKONEILL that you are using them for your PC.. he tries to take the pee out of me for having a set of 7C's hook up to my PC.
Depends on the interpretation of "using them for your PC" :D

I don't use it the Solo7C with my monitor (I use the 1600T for that), but with my 46" TV (excuse the crappy phone photo):

Its on the product page, 41cm tall iirc.

They are certainly imposing but they make the desk seem more open than my previous speakers.

Excuse the dust.

I'm pondering the same upgrade... The T40s seem to sell OK second hand too

they are nearly 3 x the rms of the t40

personally they are good speakers were they worth the original price? Maybe.

Are they worth this price? Definitely.

Ta.

3.5mm the spec says (both for analogue audio and Mini-TOSLINK).

One thing I just read in a review is that the connection between the two speakers is a weird proprietary cable that looks like 6-pin PCIe but isn't?

Yea its a mini 6pin connection.

Not sure if I will keep these tbh, they make a very irritating pop when audio comes through them after being quiet, obviously for low noise conversations during films this is incredibly annoying due to constant popping.

cant seem to stop it either, also keep get weird audio issues where the sound will become muffled then tinny and then normal randomly makes me regret this purchase.

When working fine though they are fantastic, but not worth the money over the R1600t if you already have them imo.

Sounds a lot like the faults described in some of the customer complaints on the rivers .com website

I bought some refurbished Spinnakers just before xmas. They lasted a month before they stopped working - a common fault according to customer reviews elsewhere on the net. I have had no luck at all getting them fixed. I never get a reply to emails sent to Edifier or the UK distributor emails.

I am so tempted to buy another set as I loved them while they worked but am really wary of Edifier now.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I wish I never bought refurbished ones but there you go :p Just thought I would share my woes with Edifier incase others are on the fence.

Have managed to cure the popping issue mostly.

I use to have my speakers at full volume and then control the volume through windows via my keyboard.

To stop the popping I turned windows sound up to full, and chrome sounds up to full and use the control ball thing they supply with the speakers to control the sound level, now the speakers have some sort of noise always going through them which helps prevent most if not all the popping noises.

Still occasionally get weird sound issues (going tinny, then muffled) during low noise level scenes but overall it has improved. The sound from these is awesome, still debating whether to return them or not though.
