Batman: Arkham Asylum

Some of the Combat challenges are hard, well Im finding it hard to get golds on them all, Shock and Awe is soo tough

This game really isn't made for a keyboard and mouse. It sucks. I wish i would have used the joypad instead. Some of the fight scenes later in the game are very difficult with a kb&m. It just doesn't feel right for me even though i never use a joypad in my games or even own an X360 or Ps. I find myself pressing the wrong buttons and just end up button mashing.

For anyone who finished it on hard using kb&m, i have no idea how they did it. I had a right job doing even on normal. That level where you fight the joker. I grab him with the batclaw and there is always 1 ****** running towards me stopping me from doing any damage to the joker. He they sends another 6 men down to rinse and repeat. I need to master how to knock them out in one combo so they don't get back up. It promts to press Shift+lmb?? But i'm in that much of a panic i rarely pull it off.

I don't normally play these types of games. I love the combat in the game but i just suck when there are too many enemies.Think i'll just stick to fps and racing games.

I found most of the game worked really well on KB+M infact was one of the best console ports in that respect with a really natural feel to many of the actions... however there were a few sections where it was the complete reverse... boss fights can be fiddly unless you have 3 hands or creatively remap the controls... tho once you get a bit of practise they are pretty easy.

There are a couple of sections (not the scarecrow bits) where the camera for no good reason pulls out to a platformer point of view i.e. when exiting crocs lair - which is almost impossible to do on keyboard.

The hand to hand combat bits are actually really easy... most people try and rush them but infact you can take them really slow and pull off the combos fine it just takes a bit of practise coz the natural instinct is to button mash.

Too right, I've had to really force myself not to button mash, and dont let myself get surrounded

Being surrounded isn't a problem just time the double tap dodges and they'll never land a hit on you and you can get out of any situation.

Most of my fights are me chaining dodges over the top of enemy until I'm in a position to hit the one I want in a star shaped sequence til every last man is down.

Thinking of getting the retail version of this.

If you have to registering it with GfWL, does that mean to can't sell it on second hand as it's tied to an account?

Me neither.

Great work from him, I think the Joker is a great character.
Loved the Scarecrow sections of the game, I was so confused by the last one

That last one scared the crap out of me, was just about to reset the computer when things started working again :o

Great game though, really enjoyed it.

The game doesn't use the GFWL SSA system, it just has an install limit of 15. So as long as you don't install it 15 times before you sell it on your fine

Ooh, that's good. So you can use the key with multiple gamertags? I also note on the Steam tools tab, there is a license revoke tool so you can get your activation back.

Revoke tool only revokes the securom activations, not the GFWL activations. There currently isn't a way to revoke GFWL activations for any of the games that use it (its my big issue with the system at the moment)

Great PC game, just as good as the PS3 version in fact better at 1920 x 1080... Just it irks me that the game seems geared towards nvidea... Config screen allows configurations of Nvidea AA but unless you patch to 1.1 you can't change this...

And then when patched, its via the ATI CCC instead. I've had to setup a ATI control panel for the .exe for batman, and this really does suck..!! I'm now forcing AA on for everything, and its maybe affecting some performance.. I guess this is what Nvidea - the way its meant to be played... really now means..

Developers get money to stop ATI users from setting the AA ingame - great..!! Other then this, excellent game..!! Agree about keyboard though, its really a gamepad type of game - the fights with a keyboard toughen it up somewhat..

I was thoroughly surprised by this game. For as long as i can remeber 99% of super hero game tie ins have been crap. B:AA is imo incredibly well produced, with great sound and voice acting. It is a pretty short game even if you collect all the extras but it was a great gaming experience for me, the sandman levels were brilliant.

I have only played this for about 2 hours but the game is so good, I can't believe that I have waited for so long to play this (best £8 spent ever). We need more quality games like this one.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this game is. Completed it last night but I'll definitely be giving it another play through sometime.
