Batman Arkham City - Thread

Why would the guy who opened the thread nearly a year ago come back and edit his post just for morons like you.

Moron? that's a little rich.

If overclockers batman thread is your source for the game then lol.
No, steam is the source for the game I bought on steam. Are you having trouble with this?

But yes this thread does state exactly when the game comes out. Also the first 100 posts??? jesus did you check the dates of those posts??? We could not see into the future at that time.

Yeah somewhere in the 360 posts, which is of little use to anybody unless they are actively reading the thread, which is what...0.1% of the population who bought the game on steam? It's hilarious that you think there arent people out there who...you know...just buy games then play them. We dont all actively seek out every tidbit of information on games that arent released yet. Honestly if i did do that they i wouldnt have time for real life.

my steam says its out on 25th of november...
It does now :p

I wouldnt call it a battle as such, more just somebody who can't see past the end of his own nose. This delay happened around the 11th from looking on the web. So that's a whole 7 days i would have to go without checking this thread (which i've not read before) or the batman official forums. Is that difficult for those of us who work and have families ect?

...and I'm the moron? A week is really not a long time for most people.

edit: sorry, the 8th. so 10 days :p

Yes

After the first delay for last week, one would check to make sure it was not delayed again. Yes I have a family, yes we both work, yes I knew Batman was delayed.

Stop crying about it.

with the naivety displayed in your posts, i do find that very hard to believe. It might shock you that i didnt know about this first delay, whatever that might be. Not really a shock to anybody else though, i dont sit on here talking about pc games all day long as I'm sure most people (except you :p) would appreciate.

Stop crying about it.

:D Come on now, I hardly think what i said would imply i was crying about anything at all. Hell it doesnt even pass for a rant :p

I think its reasonable to expect only 1 delay, at the same time anyone who thought UK would get special treatment on this is a bit silly. Its not like the UK market is so small as to be completely under the radar now is it.

The game honestly isn't worth all of this whinging, I fully expect a wave of disappointment similar to that which hit shortly after its console release. You should be thanking them for saving you from that for another week :p.

welcome to the internet where nobody is happy, I just came from a skyrim thread where people are complaining about some SLEEVE textures in a virtual world so large and lush it would have physically blown our minds beyond all imagination 15 years ago.

People can be unhappy, sometimes a little perspective does come in handy though.

Be it this week or next, people are going to get to play the game. When they find out that some of the main reasons they liked Arkham Asylum are absent from Arkham City, now that will be interesting.

What exactly is it lacking from AA?

Personally the reasons I loved AA was the combat system was the best and most enjoyable I have found in a game yet, the story line was ace and I actually thought was far better than some films basic story lines, the atmosphere was just great as well thanks to the graphics/design of the asylum and the voice acting was ACE as well. Just felt like a true batman title.

And of course wasn't too short and not too long.

no one said anything was lacking from AA, they said stuff from AA was missing from AC making AC a game not as good as AA :) If that makes sense :S

It's a bit difficult without spoiling, although I can stay spolier free with my main issues.

The more focused Metroid style of the first game is far superior to the open world of AC, not only at concept level but I didn't think it was executed particularly well in AC. The combat was the other main reason I enjoyed it less, it's still there and if anything technically superior to Arkham Asylum. But it's the problem most incremental upgrades run into, it's very difficult to recapture the magic of doing something the first time round, and Arkham City didn't manage it for me.

It's still a very good game, good enough that I would have no real argument with someone liking it more than the first. It just doesn't live up to Arkham Asylum which seems to be a fairly universal opinion.

I wouldn't say that's universal opinion at all, in fact it has higher average reviews than AA.

I think most people's complaints is they tried to make it too different and went with an open world game rather than the linear story of the first (even though the first was essentially an open world game too, just with more loading screens)

I think the only negative for me is they tried to cram too many of the Batman characters in, so none of them get quite enough screen time for me.
