Well if you are looking for a fallout, skyrim, deus ex type of game, this most certainly isn't the game to get then. I personally find them extremely boring walking around in a massive open world talking to everyone, having to pick every little single thing up etc. Having a ton of missions to choose from etc. etc.
As I said before this game is pretty much the same as arkham asylum, except in an open world and everything from the combat, gliding etc. has been improved vastly.
I wouldn't really say the game was a button smashing one either especially when you play on game + mode (no counter attack markers), maybe at the start it is, but as you progress further on, you have to use the gadgets available, time your attacks etc. you got different types of opponents, which can only be hit by stunning then doing an aerial attack, jumping over them, countering a range of knife attacks, having to stop them from getting guns etc.
Spiderman games for the xbox etc. are what I call button smashers
And this game does have the good old hanging above them in the shadows, making your moves taking one out at a time, however due to the improved AI, they will learn and disable that way that you got one of them last time e.g. if they see you on a gargoyle, they will start to shoot them to pieces meaning you can't use it, if you use a electro magnetic magnet thing to disarm them or to stun them, they will destroy them etc.
You then have missions, which involve you tracking someone down by analysing their blood or whatever and having to use the sonar vision gadget.
And of course you have riddlers challenges, which involve working out how to get them from locked prisms, answering a riddle by scanning the image/item.
The game is more about stealth than anything especially once the the thugs all get guns near the end.
And it isn't just a simple run through a corridor, go from one point to another, it is sort of like a puzzle, how to get past a blocked way or how to get from one point to another using e.g. a frost grenade and your bat claw.
Plus I have no problems with a K+M, very rarely got hit by the bad guys even on game + mode and was still able to use all gadgets during combat easily enough, obviously though the game will be much better with a 360 pad just like many other 3rd person view games
