yes thats the whole attraction to this game. no bs back to how we used to enjoy games
ranking systems and such are often just a crotch for weak gameplay.
the best fps games i played mainly had no such systems and were just choose character and play.
medal of honor, cod 1/uo / cod 2 simple just play and shoot more down to player skill.
the only worry at the moment is its a kickstarter and a very small team. if it wasn't for games that didn't mess up kickstarters rep like The Stomping Land i don't think many would even question the game.
i watched about ten minutes of stream i am like you ed. no money is coming from my pocket until i see it finished. these jokers blew the x3 the money they needed and still haven't done much.
they showed a video link in the chat LOL of some "new" footage.it was a static rifle LOL.they sat and just drank beer.
this is why i hate the unreal 4 engine. so easy for people to just take a idea and try and make it work often being garbage.hopefully this isnt but it isnt inspiring great confidence.
i just hope the animations and movement is as fluid as the game that inspires this title.cod2.
thats the only problem with many modern fps titles.they focus on the big bang audience and not the base gameplay mechanics which is what keeps a game alive long after the ohh its pretty wares off.
well the more mature players will also remember that the original cods were actually very good. it is weird when you think about it.cod 1 / united offence were actually 10x better than cod2.cod 2 was the launch title for the xbox 360 and where all the console fps gameplay came from.people who dont know on pc when cod 2 came out there was a shutdown of all the PC servers in protest due to how cod 2 had gone the easy route coming from the earlier two games.
this game is mainly modelled on cod2.the devs play it all the time and you can see the influence in the game.
there is a couple of ww2 games doing the cod styled games at the moment this and days of war. i think this may have the better chance of being the better game but we will have to see.
if they can get the maps well made.the animations slick and most importantly the hit reg good then it will be a big seller.if not it will be like many smaller fps games building hype only to end in the bargin bin.
its aimed at esports and being streamlined like promod for cod 4 for eg. cheap price and easy to play and quick with good reg they aiming for a guess at the esports csgo kinda crowd and competitive people.there is a big market if you get the game right.
look at esport fps. there is csgo and erm...csgo.thats it.no one can make a esport fps title.or listen to those that know what needs to be popular to make a esports title. basically just make cod 4 promod with modern engine = success. this is sort of a cod 2 version.which was popular.
Battalion 1944 hits Steam Early Access on February 1st 2018
cant wait.played the alpha other day and im very impressed.plays like cod 2 great hit reg looks great.i had 200 fps on unreal 4 engine. should be very popular amongst people who want competitive gameplay and casual ww2 fps.better than i expected it to be and really happy its progressed.roll on the first !
if you played cod 2. its very similar.it uses the unreal 4 engine.so same as pubg but...the performance is very good.even on low settings at 1080 it looked good.which i was surprised about.on the rig i tested it on it had a 1070 gtx in and i was getting 200 fps at 1080.
the movement was good the hitreg is amazing.if you played cod games of yester year when they were actually good ! then it will feel like putting on the slippers or should i say feel very at home. i played with shotguns which were one shot if accurate and deadly. snipers are one shot if you got and fast.remember this isnt battlefield its accuracy and speed.those that are good will hammer you with a sniper because the games got great reg. so imagine cod 2/cod 4 snipers and how you shoot people.you will understand. mp44 one of my fav guns is mental bit of bounce but very good. i was playing competitive so search and destroy. one team plants one defends. there will be casual servers aswell.
map we played was sort of like caretan well designed and the layout has been well implemented.
yes this is one of the big things with this game. many of us older clan people and competitive people will be ready for the comp side especially.maybe do a ocuk group.should be plenty to do this.
yes he has clearly said the time it would be open in all media formats and live streams.the builds are early so they will be updated frequently.its alpha.
