Battalion 1944 (ww2 game )

Battalion 1944 hits Steam Early Access on February 1st 2018

cant wait.played the alpha other day and im very impressed.plays like cod 2 great hit reg looks great.i had 200 fps on unreal 4 engine. should be very popular amongst people who want competitive gameplay and casual ww2 fps.better than i expected it to be and really happy its progressed.roll on the first ! :cool:
 
This looks like exactly what I've been missing for years, I guess since CoD2/ 4 - just a back to basics shooter with decent FPS, hitreg and good movement (strafe jumping, etc.) I'll definitely be purchasing EA.
 
this isnt what I normally go for as I'm more of a fan of the realism but I'm really interested in giving it a go for the price.

Fingers crossed for effective anticheat!!!!
 
I can't understand the hype behind this game, it looks like a bog standard WW2 shooter thats been done a million times before. I know its trying to be more like old school fps and I enjoyed COD2 but still... all the gameplay looks so underwhelming.

I've seen very little of it but what I want is a fps with decent graphics, solid performance, server browser with ping info, easily be able to join mates, decent map layouts, decent spawn mechanics, no bs/tacky mechanics and good hit reg.

A reasonable list I think.
 
from what i played two days ago.

if you played cod 2. its very similar.it uses the unreal 4 engine.so same as pubg but...the performance is very good.even on low settings at 1080 it looked good.which i was surprised about.on the rig i tested it on it had a 1070 gtx in and i was getting 200 fps at 1080.

the movement was good the hitreg is amazing.if you played cod games of yester year when they were actually good ! then it will feel like putting on the slippers :D or should i say feel very at home. i played with shotguns which were one shot if accurate and deadly. snipers are one shot if you got and fast.remember this isnt battlefield its accuracy and speed.those that are good will hammer you with a sniper because the games got great reg. so imagine cod 2/cod 4 snipers and how you shoot people.you will understand. mp44 one of my fav guns is mental :D bit of bounce but very good. i was playing competitive so search and destroy. one team plants one defends. there will be casual servers aswell.

map we played was sort of like caretan well designed and the layout has been well implemented.

Please stop. :D I can't wait to play it. I looking at stop playing CSGO for this so I hoping the community will be strong. I can't see why not though £12 asking price is a great price that am sure people even hanging on the fence will give it a try.
