The one shotting is really putting me off this game, I'm normally pretty rubbish with a rifle, but was able to kil loads last night using a rifle and just aiming in their general direction, the aiming feels off to me in this game.

Kills by rifle, sniper or not should not be so easy with little to no aiming, and in that respect it's nothing. Like COD2 was.

I really want to like this game but struggling a bit, I will def give it a go on release, but time will tell if I play it a lot.

Originally I was gonna create a clan in this game, just to have some fun, but will not be doing that anymore.

cod 2 was exactly what this game is. i dont get how you cant see this maybe you didnt play it much but all people who played cod 2 with bolt rifles or snipers it was one shot kills. so it comes down to tactics aim and skill.also have to be very fast.

as i have said to people if you are no good with a rifle or sniper dont use it. even if medicore just use something else because most likely the other team player is good and you will get hammered round after round.

go search some youtube footage of cod 2 and bolt rifles with pros playing it.its exactly the same.they even played cod 2 all the time making this game to get it similar. its not about realism.its about bring back the oldskool ww2 shooters we all loved = early cod / medal of honor. this isnt catered for so they made a game to cater for it.which will be big for that very reason.

I played 1000s of hours of cod2 besides the colouring/visual this game is nothing like cod2, I led a clan that was no1 in the world on clanbase on both ctf, and demo, so think I know what cod2 played like.

I must have killed 30/40 with a bolt action rifle, it was **** easy, would never have killed 5 in a day with a rifle in cod2.

It's ridiculously easy to kill with a sniper rifle no scoping

i replied to your comment which you talked about the snipers and bolt rifles not the colouring or visuals.cod 2 had the same easy kills with bolt rifles and snipers.one hit dead.this does the same or similar.if you played as you said you have then you already know this.

you say you wouldnt kill 5 in a day in cod 2 rifles i kinda find it hard to believe your statement. i dont know whether trolling or lying about clanbase.the funny thing is one of the main reasons for many not liking cod 2 when it came out originally was because it was too easy with rifles and snipers and moved from cod 1 / uo as you had to be so precise to get a kill.they even shut down all the cod 2 servers in protest.the game was still popular but as said the rifles in cod 2 were super easy one hit kills.if you were in clanbase or compside and even low you would know that nevermind top.

added some random phantasy cod 2 just too highlight how easy rifles are from cod 2.battalion is no different.if you can aim you will kill easy.the difference is because we havent had a game like this for years everyone is used to crappy reg on other games or they play arma 3 and expect some super realistic game.its not that game. so just play it as it is.


 
Got a key and played a few rounds - very similar to cod2 imo; finding it really laggy though, is it just me? My ping is low 20's but seems like it's skipping frames or I'm getting lag spikes.

There wasn't a demolition game mode in cod2?

What was your clan name? Use to float around the high level circle in cod1 and cod2. There is a video of us getting owned by WHO crew out there...

But yea... battalion is basically cod2 with a little less polish. I'm not a fan of the card/tag system in the competitive modes. Pretty positive that will change once it's released.
 
They nailed the hitreg in this, which is nice, although I only played for 50 mins or so, I didn't feel lamed once around the corner.
 
Ummmm. Yeah. Fun..... Feels like a cheap CSGO tho. If it retails for £10 i might pick it up.

Its ok tho. I echo what someone said eariler, will get boring super quick. Should really only be played in groups/clans.
 
you buy it on the 1st.tbh i dont think you will like it if you dont already.

its for those who enjoy the early cod games.who havent had them remade or similar.

also for those that want a competitive game similar to cod2 and cod 4 promod.
 
I didn't manage to play too much over the weekend, but I did enjoy it - going back to BF1 afterwards felt so sluggish and choppy.

I'll definitely be picking it up on the 1st.

Was called *|F|eaR :p 1 was called Wabbit, back in those days, we were also no1 in SoF2, so may well be mixing modes up, long time ago now, though I remember we beat Cyber Warriors, in COD2 to become no1 in COD2 in search n destroy, (yeah had to google modes to make sure ...age)

The clan started in sof2, then moved to cod2 hence the name as at the start..gulp we :o were called Soldiers of *|F|eaR, but we dropped the soldier bit pretty smartish

This game does not feel at all like cod2, well IMO, loaded up cod2 on Sunday and had a half hour bash, these games feel nothing alike.
