*** Battlefield 1 ***

Last night despite the DDoS was great fun, Probably the most fun I have had in a battlefield game for a while, Hit reg was working great so people were dying as you would expect.

I did have to turn down the FOV to 60% as any higher and it starts to look like a Fisheye effect, Also turn the Blur down too 0% on the Xbox and it looks so much better.

Kit ranks are working again also, the first night i could rank up, but a bug caused the game to stop tracking kit ranks if you stayed in a server for too long.

Really can't wait to play more maps now as i think this will be an amazing Bf game

Just played 3 rounds of conquest only to realise I never ranked up at all, had a good last round as well:(

The end of round stats are not showing and so you don't rank up either!

Oh and why is it when I watch youtube vids of people using one shot rifles do they always kill with one hit? Takes me two sometimes three before they go down. Is it they have the top tier one shot guns or I'm just crap at aiming with pad and they're using a mouse?

I thought there were no one shot kill weapons. They are probably just hitting people with less than 100% hp. On second thought though, sniper headshots might be?

Most not all snipers are a 1 shot head shot, but it depends on the range as some drop off quicker than others, Videos of people doing it frequently are PC so some lovely accurate mouse control.

It also seems like headshots with a sniper are harder to get in BF1. I don't know if the lack of zoom plays a factor in that but I've rarely killed someone with one bullet - that said if you equip the k-bullets (meant for tanks etc) you can one hit kill infantry :D

Found sniping to take some getting used to. Theres very little bullet drop and the bullets seem to travel a lot faster than previous games.
Its pretty satisfying though when you nail a head shot on someone.

I don't understand why the graphics look so atrocious on the Xbone. There's hardly any improvement over Bad Company 2 which is the last one I played on 360.

Not sure if it was lag, but a guy on horseback managed to kebab me from a good 10-15 feet away. I guess they had to implement some system to aid getting hits with the sword, but that was one helluva distance between us!

Generally, not sold yet - its also a bit daft being unable to unlock anti-tank kit straight away; had a couple of tanks spawn killing at 'apples' and couldn't do a thing - tried to change kit only to find I needed 30 bloody war bonds first!

Just played a couple of games but the end screen with scoreboards and stuff wouldn't load so I exited and now getting "Matchmaking failed" constantly :(

Right.

First off, the servers are so broken it's unreal. I've spent the last hour or so trying to get in to a game with two friends, not happening. We've rebooted, regrouped, tried a few different servers, the lot. We're currently waiting for a server and we're 40 in the queue. It's ridiculous, but then I expect nothing less from DICE really, especially after the whole BF4 fiasco.

From the couple of matches I played, the gameplay seems great. The setting is lovely but then I didn't play Star Wars so I can't compare it to that. The dust storms add a nice element but I can see it getting irritating very quickly. The combat is good but when I played as a sniper, my shots just didn't land after a certain distance which was frustrating as hell because the sniper I was sniping just head shotted me. I must've got at least 15 shots on target before he saw me and not a single hit marker. You have to request medical attention which is a bit different from the usual but I suppose it saves the medics wasting time if you just want to spawn in. Vehicle combat is fantastic, but this is fron a ground only point of view, I haven't flown anything yet.

There are loads of issues but once you get in a match it's decent.

Just don't expect to play with friends and expect about 5 hours of nonsense for one hour of gameplay.
