*** Battlefield 1 ***

I don't like Rush on this map! Defending was okay but attacking was terrible - could just be me though as I don't normally play this mode. Conquest though I am loving it.

Spotting is working fine for me. I don't know how to revive people either.

Spotting works but I'm not sure whether I need to be more accurate when I "spot" but sometimes it does take a few clicks on R1 before it highlights the player. Does it take distance into consideration, too ?

I'm not entirely sure why they chose this map for the open beta, I thought the closed beta map was far better. The size and layout of Sinai doesn't work to great with Conquest game mode and doesn't lend its self to close quarters combat. It does however work well with Rush game mode and begs you to use sniper class, especially when its your turn to defend the telegraph posts. Although saying that, I generally switch to medic for the last 2 points and get more stuck in due to the tighter fighting quarters of the village.

In regards to sniping i've noticed it to be quite different from BF4. Bullet drop is almost non existent (although it was ridiculously exaggerated in BF4) but damage over distance is quite noticeable. A torso hit from 50m away can often be a one shot kill where as at 300m+ it can take 2-3 hits in the torso to take someone down. While bullet drop is very minimum, if the target is moving you do have to compensate, and shoot in front of the target.

Think it would be a better map if all the action was concentrated in the built up part, make the building area larger and remove lot of the open desert.

i'll be on this later as a complete Battlefield noob, any tips that are going to make my life easier.

last proper online FPS i played was black ops (1st one) on the 360

Yes. Don't die :p

(for real, pick a class which can offer support as you can mix getting used to the combat while actually helping your team, and PFTO)

Been struggling with sniping as I feel the Sharpshooter scope is absolutely pants with hardly any zoom. Switched to the Russian 1895 Marksman and it's perfect. Can't miss now. :p

Really need 60FPS to make this enjoyable... hope new consoles make this standard.

A lot of my friends have a ps4 and will be getting this for it, thats why i havent given this a go on PC yet.

Not sure how the ps4.5 will run this however, increase to 40-45 fps maybe??

Think I'm going to hold off for a day 1 purchase and wait for a price drop, quite a few decent games coming soon like horizon 3 and Mafia 3.

These kind of games improve other time with patches anyway, so the time everything is fixed the price will be nice and low.

Cant help but mirror those that say it feel a lot like Battlefront, cause it does, feels very casual again like BF, certainly nothing like a Battlefiled game. THat and the amount of money they are asking for in a season of games TitanFall etc, me thinks my money will go elsewhere.

I haven't played this yet so I cannot judge but you rarely had anything great to say about BF4 either. So what 'battlefield' experience are you looking for?

BF4 on the whole was fine when they sorted it out, but they still didn't fix sound bugs etc in it when I last played it. I put more hours into that game than any other I think.
BF4 deffo has higher skill setting though, BF1 just feels like "shot more and win" feel like BattleFront had, hell, even Hardline felt more skill based than this.

I don't get the whole "plays like battlefront" thing. It's the same devs, running on the same engine, published by the same people, what were you expecting?

I can understand part of the Battlefront thing, I quite liked it but it did feel like a dumbed down Battlefield game. I hope the beta is still on this Monday so I can try it before it ends.

Running around flanking people on a horse is so much fun, running people down or slaying them with the sword =

Did a bit of sniping on rush earlier, and I was trying my absolute hardest to kill two guys that were pretty far away on the little bridge at the top of the canyon. Either I was a terrible aim, or something just wasn't right with the game. I swear I kept hitting them, but still they mocked me with their side stepping.

I was absolutely furious, shouting at the TV and ready to quit. It was only when I decided to run over there towards them, that I realised the little icons above their heads were blue instead of red and I'd spent the last few minutes and at least three mags worth of ammo firing at my teammates.
