*** Battlefield 1 ***

Initial novelty of this worn off for anyone else? Not played for a few days so jumped on and found myself not really wanting to play it for longer than 2 maps.

With BF4 I actually wanted to play it, with BF1 there just isn't that 'draw'.

Yup I'm with you there.

I think it is. I've had folk smack bang centre in my crosshair and it doesn't flag up.

I've had the same.

Nope, if anything, the more I'm playing the more I'm enjoying it. I'm usually one to get bored after a week or so, too...

sorta but my problem is to do with the controller sensitivity, no matter what settings i mess around with i cant seem to aim and kill anyone around me unless their not moving.. then again could be bcoz im too slow :p

When i'm Lonewolfing it, yes i agree, just cant play this on my own, not enjoyable at all, where as in BF4 i could play for hours on my own. I just dont bother with BF1 if my mates arnt playing.
but when squaded up with my mates its got to be one of the most brutal addictive and enjoyable gaming experiences i've had in a while, I mean when things got a bit fruity on BF4 it was fun, but no real sense of self preservation, you jump in there enough times your sure to push on. but when **** hits the fan on BF1 your in the trenchs hanging on for dear life watching the blue/red meter on the flag swing back and forth, on you belt buckle just hoping the next mortar dosnt have your name on it, it gets pretty intense.

A little.

I hate the reward system in this (battle packs) just a bizarre way of doing it.

Had 3 packs since I purchased the game and Im level 21.

And also the medal tracking sucks, I kind of don't mind the tracking but I don't get why it needs to be timed, it makes it incredibly difficult for anyone that only gets 1-2 days a week to play the game.

I think the main problem is the minimal customisation, yeah its WW1 so Its not going to be great, I just miss the array of weapon attachments and soldier customisation in BF4 compared to this.

I've also noticed that not as many people on my friends list are playing, I remember bf4 was very popular and it was easy to squad up with friends, not so much with bf1.

you and me both, though over time I've got more used to it. sniping, in particular, my aim is just terrible in comparison. i have massively changed the sensitivity when looking down the sites so sniping is much better now than it was with default settings, but it's nothing compared to mouse and keyboard, esp when say you can just see a smidge of someone's head poking out. mouse I'd get it instantly, controller only if I'm lucky

Are you aware that you can change the sensitivity of each weapon / scope to your personal preference?

I was surprised to see this feature on a console game so you may have missed it.

is this game ok for 11 year old.

I know the box says 18 but i've watched gameplay and it doesn't look worse than crysis or halo why the 18 cert. is it due to a few swearies?

Probably due more to the fact that the Melee kills and Bayonet charges are quite visceral and graphic.

The use of chemical weapons and incendiary grenades/flamethrowers with bodies burning and smouldering after is not a pretty sight either.

The devs really did give this game all the insight and feeling they could into how WW1 must have felt - imagined on a TV screen.

What is going on with medals? They keep changing depending on where you look at them. I selected the domination medal then went into a domination game and i had no medal selected and the domination one wasn't even available. So start on my scout one again and when I finally connect to a map with horses (need vehice kills with k bullet) I have the other set of medals to choose from. So irritating!

EDIT

So can you do medals multiple times? Sometimes it shows ones I've already done with ticks and sometimes not. Also, sometimes it shows half completed ones. The whole thing is pretty confusing.

Lastly, can someone explain how the person in the video managed to shoot me / know where I was:

I'm a massive fan of the BF series - I've been playing it since 1942 - but I've already had some epic and hilarious moments on BF1. Like the below, complete fluke. Probably a good job it doesn't record party chat as that's my mate on the other horse :D.
