*** Battlefield 1 ***

Anyone else thinking this is going to be a pain to play? The era was still heavily influenced by the bolt action rifle. I can understand its appeal but playing on consoles is going to be a mare. I mean Day of Defeat was pretty epic but that was with a mouse and keyboard.

Many may not agree but I'd definitely prefer if this was an alternate reality setting to add a bit of variety. I wasn't really bothered about a new BF this time around but changing the era makes it more interesting...but I'm just a sucker for sci-fi alternate realities of real world events.

I was more interested in an alternate WW1 than I am the game it is now.

I expect they will push the envelope here a bit. They're not going for a historically accurate recreation. So to that extent it would be very easy to include some prototype weapons that never really saw service but were around at the time.

They've kind of already done this with the tanks and horses side by side thing. There were tanks in WW1 and there were horses, just not like how it played out in the trailer.

Possible map names and settings have been leaked.

https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefiel...es_of_the_vanilla_game_maps_have_been_leaked/

Anonymous source inside EA (Not DICE) have tipped me off with the names of all the maps in the vanilla game.
Asiago Offensive (Italian Alps Map)
Gaza Sands (Desert Map)
Siege of Damascus (I'd assume desert-urban...?)
Stalemate (Sounds like a Flanders fields kinda deal)
ANZAC Cove (Sounds like Gallipoli, I'd assume that 'D-day map' LevelCap mentioned and the one with the Battleship ruining the coastline)
Garden Twilight (No idea)
Argonne Shade (Probably the forrest map we saw in the trailer)
Operation Castlewick (No idea either, maybe references something in campaign?)
Scorched Earth (Sounds Western or Eastern Front...?)
Now according to the source, these may or may not be the actual titles used in game but they were definitely at least working titles or suggested titles at some point.

I'm actually really tempted by this. Early enlister deluxe edition is 62.99 with discount from ea access.

I haven't got EA Access, but Gold members can get EA access for free for 10 days from the 12th June. I wonder if the discount would apply for those 10 days :)

Looks awesome. Loving the new spawn mechanic, nothing more annoying than spawning in blind and getting shot immediately.

I would really like this game.. but running this at 1440p on a single 980 isn't going to be any better, if not worse, than on PS4?
