Search the battlefront thread and find how many "star wars mod" or "star wars reskin" comments there were at the time.
It was cool to bash battlefront as just a BF4 mod that we were being ripped off for. The game was ****, everybody was a fool to buy it. etc.. etc..
Notice any parallels ?
shotgun you just run at people one shot they die.its a beast.so if you havent tried it unlock it.

They go down easy enough when running the assault class and have some of the upgrades unlocked. Problem is, most of the early weapons for assault are close range sub machine guns only good for engaging people in and around the buiildings. Move out into the desert and you're a sitting duck so nobody is playing assault.
Things will change with the full game as more people run assault and get more varied maps etc..

Did they? Missed that - right time for an uninstall then, got the rank 33 and don't feel the need to play anymore.

I don't think there is anything else to take away from the gun play
If only it had been a BF4 reskin! I <3 BF4 (Which is really a BF3 reskin). BFHL was a BF4 reskin but they messed up the weapon balance, made the commander (Hakr) too powerful and added a whole load of new game modes that didn't really work.
This game clearly draws from SWBF, but it's not nearly as shallow. Rush is still unbalanced, I don't think rush has really worked since BF3.
I've seen no hint of a commander yet, and TBH I'm not sure I'd miss one after BFHLs
I'm missing squad perks though, they were a good incentive for squad play rather than general team play.
BTW Tombstone please learn to use the Edit button rather than post multiple times in a row!
Well. I'm quite liking it to be honest! Hit rank 40 yesterday.
Yes its not without its issues, yes it need things fixing. No I haven't pre-ordered it!
- Not a fan of the 'hold left mouse button' mechanic.
- The maps ok, but again needs tweaking.
- Revive timer/hold space to redeploy needs to go. Its utterly pointless and doesn't get you back in the game any quicker.
- Support class feels pointless, ammo and tripwires? RIP anyone dropping ammo anymore.
- I don't think tank are OP, just that people don't seem to want to attack them.
- Bring back ticket bleed.

Definitely not this time
- Got burnt with hardline + battlefront (although saying that I really liked hardline, it was just the awful netcode + OP guns + insane TTK that killed it for me and battlefront was ok just to get a star wars fix but BF 1 has nothing to redeem itself for me, sure its got some fun moments, but I can get those same moments in a far better game i.e. bf 4/ 3, even BC 2.... and the WW 1 skin does nothing for me)
- I can't see there being any longevity with the game in its current state especially if the other maps are poor, I give it 2-3 months
- Lastly, AFAIK, only one person of the 8 or so people I play online games/bf 4 with regularly is getting the game on release day so no peer pressure for me to buy it as well this time
As said though, if they address the gunplay and a few other things in a timely manner then chances are, I and the others will get it. Given the amount of people hating the new gun mechanics including youtubers especially xfactor, I will be very surprised if they don't address these issues...

I'm enjoying the beta, I'm not a hardcore BF fan so I'm out the loop with the 'cut and paste' of features in the BF 'model'. I joined to see what the WWI setting is like and had fun with the gameplay.
Still can't beat good ol' BF2, those were the days.

to play with my friends.already 8 or 9 of us buying it.so will be a laugh.
sniping is the main gameplay aspect.its nigh on perfect at moment.
maps look decent what could be coming and i dont mind the two already played.
do i think its perfect nope but what else is there ?
bf4 is hackfest now . wasnt so bad but the cheap deals over recent months has made it a bit of a joke.thats often the time to get out.

I'm not sure I've seen much in the way of hackers in BF4 recently (compared to BF1 where they weren't running anti cheat, and then just do ban waves). Farmers are still a problem, but myself and Waylander managed to drive one off from a server yesterday with persistence.
I join you for a few games when it comes out if you don't mind, it doesn't look like many of the regulars are buying.

Lol, nah (frankly I'm not a particularly big fan of EA as a company anyway so I wouldn't work for them even if they offered) , its more that I take umbridge at being told I am not a proper player because I happen to have a different opinion on a game

Most of the hackers stick to stuff like lockers 24x7 - playing other maps I've seen like 1 person in a night of playing that is probably hacking - I'd bet there are others who are using wallhacks, etc. though just not to the level where it has a significant impact on the game.
Makes me laugh playing lockers as when the "netcode" is half behaving I can usually match or not far off the number of kills they get albeit at a worse KDR.

BF1 to me just doesn't have that Battlefield feeling,It feels like they taken Battlefront,Added new skins,Added new maps (sandy one that was not very well thought out) and said "Oh look guys its a new battlefield" gimme your money guys..
See,I wonder why they are unwilling to let those who didnt get the chance to play the closed Alpha map try that out..instead were stuck with the bad sand map thats literally one of the major complaints about BF1 so far.
If they're unwilling to give people what they have been asking for,Im unwilling to buy the game,Simple as that.

Yup not adding the alpha or another map is an odd decision, given the amount of hate for this map. Surely for this demo, sorry beta... you would want to showcase the best map where there is a great variety of gameplay thus getting more pre-orders in.
I am still expecting them to give us one more map near the end, they have done this with every beta/demo for BF 3 (metro + caspian), 4 (siege and paracel), hardline and battlefront, (can't remember the names of the maps for those last 2)
Personally I wasn't a huge fan of the alpha map either, it played similarly to this in terms of flags i.e. one area with 2 flags close to each other having a cluster of buildings between them and then the rest of the flags spread further apart in more open areas (just slightly more cover and different elevations)
