*** Battlefield 1 ***

Played this a bit more. Wow, the gunplay is just terrible. I've had some totally bizarre MP-18 CQ "hold down left click until dead" moments. :/

p.s. hope that in the final game some more of the unlocks add some real difference to weapons.
 
It's good fun, it's aimed more at the casual gamer though and looks easier to pick up and play than bf4.

I came very, very late to the bf4 party and tbh cant invest the time to learn about all the different weapons and classes as its so complicated. This mere fact is what so many people love about it though. If I can dip in and out of bf1 then for me that's much better!

Tanks are very easy to deal with, just a couple of assaults can take them down at range with relative ease using the AT Rocket guns. Trouble is, people dont bother, they simply run about trying to throw nades at the tanks instead.

You keep saying that but in 15 odd hours I can count on 1 hand how many assault classes have even come near me in a tank. It's a bigger problem than that though, the assault classes is just naff at everything, no one drops ammo so essentially if you are that 1 solo to various enemy tanks, you have to die to take on the next one.

3rd person aiming is completely broken aswell, if that actually worked we will see higher than 30 - 0 tank rounds which are all very common.
 
Will the ranks be reset once the game is launched or will we be able to keep say up to level 10 maximum or something similar?

They dont need to come near you, thats the point of the antitank rocket guns. I have literally just destroyed two FT17s on the map I've just done using the rocket gun , that was solo, if I had coordinated with another assaulter it would have been easier.

As I've said before, the problem isnt the tanks, the problem is the people not switching to assault and using antitank rocket guns. You have a tank at a flag, few people spawn with antitank rocket guns and destroy it. Job done. They spawn as engineers in BF4 to use AT weapons, dont know why they dont here.

Its official now, I adore the horses. After going 11 consecutive kills earlier today on one before I died, I've just gone 14 consecutive kills. Love em. Just something really fun about riding around behind someone and slicing them up with the sword :)

Sadly , I have to work away for the week and the one game I will miss the most this week from my weekends gaming is BF1. Really hope the beta is still going next weekend when I return, does anyone know if they've given an end date yet?
 
31 hours played now and now rank 50. Not sure what the max rank is but that feels a little quick to me. They could do with slowing that down a bit I think, well...if the ranks are tied in to any requirements for things, if they arent then its fine.

Well yes, I mean that is entirely possible but that doesnt make the tank OP. If the assault didnt have AT rockets then yes I would say its OP but it isnt because there is a perfectly decent counter to them. (not to mention the cannons, destroyed more than a few tanks so far with those cannons too, they do a ton of damage at range to those heavy tanks (44 per hit))

I have no doubt, as many others have said, that come release everyone will unlock the AT rockets and tanks will be made much easier to handle. What would be far worse in my opinion would be a kneejerk reaction resulting in a nerf to tanks and then when people get things unlocked in release the tanks becoming utterly obsolete.
 
I think BF1 is going to flop to be honest just like Battlefront.

I absolutely loved Bad company 2,BF3 & BF4 but BF1 is a steaming pile of you know what imo.
Im hoping that they listen to the proper Battlefield players for advice.
 
in the 3 hours ive been playing tonight, im the only assault person that drops ammo, none works together in this game, or its rare at the best

Well, you're absolutely right to want it to be more suited to your wants for the game, thats human nature, however... "proper battlefield players" ?? I mean, elitism much??

I have bought every single Battlefield game and every single Battlefield expansion (with the exception of Hardline) , I played from the very beginning almost a decade and a half ago with BF1942 and am still playing now with BF1. I have played literally thousands of hours across all the iterations of the BF series (except Hardline). I enjoyed and have had fun in each and every one of them, including the BF1 beta. Just because I am enjoying the BF1 beta that doesnt mean I am not a "proper" Battlefield player, whatever one of those is, I can only assume that only someone who doesnt like the BF1 beta counts as a proper battlefield player. :D

No tombstone is just standing by his opinions, just like those of us who don't like it are doing.

I'm hoping for another map this week and them to extend the beta until the 10th.
