Well this is essentially a Battlefront WWI skin. At one point I was running around and my pistol was held up and looked identical to Han Solo.

This map too reminds me a lot of Battlefront... And the UI is identical. The way people are playing is very similar too... Not much team work or any real seriousness given to the classes (aside from tons and tons of snipers).

Essentially they've dumbed it all down for consoles. It looks lovely, but that's about it. You can have fun for a few hours, but I feel like within a few weeks or a month tops 90% of people will have moved on.

To think they're charging 80 Euros for the "deluxe" edition and 130 Euros for the ultimate is downright nuts

also the easiest excuse for server issues to just blame people ddosing the servers :p

But battlefront was a Star Wars Skin on BF4.

But we all love BF4, so isn't this just a WWI skin for BF4 ? which is what we all wanted in the first place from the next battlefield game ?

um? its not just a BF4 reskin - many of the BF4 mechanics are watered down in Battlefront or changed in odd ways.

Besides I don't think anyone is holding BF4 up as the pinnacle of what the experience could be - it ended up after many months finally in a reasonably ok place but it still could be a lot lot better still lots of things let it down.

Personally I think everyone should try out the beta, its a small download after all, and make up their minds themselves based on whether they find it a fun game or not. BF1 has proved to be a divisive beta and now there are some people firmly entrenched in the dont like it camp and some people firmly entrenched in the like it camp. Some of those people on both sides are now doing the usual gamer thing of trying to do their best to convince other gamers to think the same way as them and take every opportunity available to slate or praise the game to push their point.

At this stage, I doubt most people are going to change their mind and swap from buyer to nonbuyer or nonbuyer to buyer. Best to give it a try and decide yourself and not feel any peer pressure to like or dislike it.

Only 1 threw a grenade and his throw was atrocious :p

But yeah I haven't really had any issues with the elites either. I think even the bayonet charge from the front can take them out in one go.

Still hate that they are in this game though, they should have just stuck with the main weapon being the only thing they got, not armour/more health.

Battlefront a reskin of bf 4??? lol what.....

I and all the people I play online games with wish battlefront was a reskin of BF 4, it would have been 100 times better and might actually have a significant player base on the PC still.

BF 1 is a mix of battlefront and BF 4, overall, I would say it is closer to battlefront though.

this in NO WAY feels anything like battlefront lol wtf are you guys on? the only thing it shares in common is the graphics and that's it,it can be as tactical or as light run and gun as you want it to be,i LOVE it myself :)
 
Had some good games today, lots of braindead players who just run around C though.

Server outage forced me to go and wreck people in a LAV in BF4 with Waylander. :D

Are you going to buy this then Nexus?

That would be daft, surely we are all intelligent enough to see the difference between discussion of a game and simply slating/praising a game endlessly for the purposes of trying to get others to agree with your opinion? Its the fundamental difference between talking with someone and talking at someone.

Seems to me that suggesting that everyone with a passing interest downloads it and tries it out to decide themselves rather than base their decision on the words of either camp, is a very fair and pragmatic approach. But maybe not.

C and D do seem to be the key flags, I think whoever can hold those two the longest has the best chance of winning. Surprisingly I think that flag E out in the desert can be key too, relatively few people are willing to run out there so it can almost be like a "free" flag for whichever team holds it. Its also easily defensible as you can see people approaching from a ways off and it has both AA and Cannon for defense against vehicles

Having played both quite a bit recently, I'm afraid that there are a lot of similarities, especially infy play, as I said the other day, when I switched to first person view in battlefront, it was uncanny just how alike the infantry feel/play is in terms of movement, animations, speed to ADS, sprint to normal walk/run movement, gun mechanics etc.

Certainly not a pre-order or buy on release day anyway. If they fix the gunplay and a few mechanics i.e. the horse armour then I'll probably get it , as long as the maps are good...
 
If anything, with the large capacity vehicles and bombing it feels a lot like bf1942 to me.

I get peoples comparisons to battlefront but that game is WAY more dumbed down than BF1.

Once you get some unlocks on the go the game feels much better.
 
Gone back to bf4. Bar the sniper all the other classes are crap at range. The medic is OK but the medics rifle takes 4 shots to drop somebody. AND only the assault class can take on vehicles, no more c4 for support and sniper.
 
I am liking this the more I play it, at least the snipers are easy to see and take out and you seem to be able to shoot as far as them with most guns
 
shotgun you just run at people one shot they die.its a beast.so if you havent tried it unlock it.

also the tanks arent OP ?

How many people tried to stop you using Cannons and AT Rocket Guns?

Tanks are very easy to deal with, just a couple of assaults can take them down at range with relative ease using the AT Rocket guns. Trouble is, people dont bother, they simply run about trying to throw nades at the tanks instead.
