*** Battlefield 1 ***

Can anyone comment on what i can expect performance wise out of a 1070?

Anyone use one for the alpha? Just ordered this morning, i intend to play at 1440p

I'd expect it to easily stay above 60fps with everything on ultra and no res scaling. Probably get over 120 fps with low for pro settings. I'm going to be using a pair of them to try and hit a solid 144fps.

will be close to 50 fps on ultra at 1440.drop to lower settings like most do in mp it will play it fine.

i know at 4k and everything max you need 2x1080s to keep good fps or over 60.

1080 a 970/480/980 is fine.

Thanks i guess thats good going then! Will do a few tweaks to try and get solid 60! Felt really smooth on 970 at high settings cant remember what i had set but was 1440p, probably a mix of med to high

Problem with the "beta" was while it had all the setting options there was really no way to tell if they all worked. The bf4 beta had all the settings but only some of them worked. The map for bf1 was pretty bland graphically as well, id think that some other maps with more foliage and water etc will stress cards more.

I can't believe there's not more of an uproar concerning the recent EA server announcement.

I'm haven't been a server admin for a while, but understand the need for well admined servers.

It smacks of EA trying to kill, or at least dumb down PC gaming. I honestly don't get why they are limiting server control and pandering to the whiners.

I don't actually understand what's going on..

I hate privately owned servers where the Clan who own it kick/ban people whenever they want the planes, or get killed too often by players, it stinks and frustrates me.

i was arguing with some ea people on twitter about it over last few days. its obvious why its being done but it is not great for those who like other less popular game types.

basically EA can control filter lesser game types so in a years time for eg if they dont think TDM is worth the hassle they could stop it. its idleness and money as usual but their spin is we want to keep a hand on our game to make it better.

we will see how it goes after a few months.

thing is its not really that new anyway.as long as games fun and stays occupied im not to bothered justdont like how things are changed by companies then say some marketing spin to try and tell you it aint what you think it is.:p

The person who rents the server gets to choose the game mode. If it's not popular, I can't see why EA would stop that game mode, they have nothing to gain by disabling it.

Same as someone who has a very good squad it happens all the time.

Wow.. I have just seen the price of the 'Ultimate Edition'. 130 dollars (Don't know UK price). lololol, seriously? What in the hell are they playing at?

They could make that cost 1 million dollars for all I care, there is absolutely nothing in that edition that I need anyway so it was never on my radar. The standard edition is all I need, dont need anything else for release at all.
