*** Battlefield 1 ***

Great fun, it runs sweet with much better performance than the beta.

Just had an epic conquest battle at Amiens, I couldn't hit a barn door but sneaking around the sides and capturing flags workded wonders, also had a few good squad mates following orders.

Hmm, been watching some more footage and snipers don't look much different to me, still seem incredibly COD'ish.

According to xfactor, the medic guns aren't as bad for random spread on their first shots though, yay...

I'm loving the game, snipers or no. However, having used snipers this evening, there's no change from beta (that I can see).

Yup, it is nice to finally have a game this year that looks superb and doesn't run like ****! Take note hangar 13/2k games you scum bags :p

You know you will crumble to. Just as you did with Battlefront and Hardline.

To be fair to me the Access thing is worth it just for the other games, never mind the BF1 play time.

Hardline - I enjoyed especially the alpha and beta but come final release, like bf 4, the netcode was worse and combined with the OP high ROF weapons + quick TTK, it just wasn't enjoyable to play when you die in 1 frame and what killed it for me and others was the lack of care/doing what the community wanted, they only started to listen to the community when the numbers dropped big time so it was too little too late by the time they got their act together

Battlefront - I held of for a week until chippy and tony were ranting and raving on how good it was then josh got it and did the same so I crumbled :p TBF, I grew to like the game but like hardline, it had a ton of gameplay balance issues with OP weapons, grenade spam, as usual, it was too little too late = they only acted once the numbers dropped drastically

By buying into EA access, you are essentially selling your soul to the devil!!! :p

There goes one of your two problems, almost in.

Just need to hear if SMGs + LMGs still have retarded spread on first 1-3 shots now :p ;)

If they buffed the other guns as well then maybe sniper rifles won't be such an issue but still, the bullet velocity should be much higher, either that or the damage gets nerfed.

Again, as I always said, if they make the changes I would like then they can have my money :D :p

Either way, going to wait a few weeks to see how things play out with game play balance, usually takes a week or 2 until certain game design choices etc. start to grate on people....

Tbh mate I didn't play much of the beta so never really paid much attention to the new bullet spread mechanic. It's probably right about the Snipers, I had a go and was picking off kills quite easily compared to BF4.

It did feel a bit hit and miss whether getting kills close up, maybe the new mechanics play a part there or I'm just very rusty.

Will have to wait and see for some proper youtube videos/feedback before I can say for sure but the snipers definitely look the same.

From what I have seen so far, the light tanks look utterly useless now (AT rocket buffed, anti tank grenades buffed, stationary cannons massively buffed, tanks splash damage + shells + reload time amongst other things all nerfed), typical DICE, go from one end of the scale to the other :p

Nexus you know you may as well buy Origin Access for a month so you can give it a bash, may save you money in the long run or at least encourage you to buy it.

Yeah I have tbh it is very tempting as it is hard to gauge what the game is actually like from the EA bum boys on youtube + it would be nice to see the maps for myself, I'll give it a few days though.

I really don't want to be a part of the Armageddon for gaming though :p

Nexus- the new jack flags video shows some gunplay with non scout guns where the bullet inaccuracy still exists. Go watch it back.

I rather take a belt sander to my balls than watch a jackfrags video :p

Not surprised although given that the youtubers supposedly brought that up in all their events, you would have thought that dice might just listen to them :o

I presume this new first 3 shot bullet spread is to accommodate new players? I can't see how it benefits anyone with experience.

Surely it makes burst fire redundant?

Yup, just there to cater to the casuals/consoles again :( There was nothing wrong with the tap/burst fire method and learning to control the recoil in previous games.

Burst fire is pointless....learning how to tap fire and burst fire over the last 20 years was also pointless. Skilled gunplay players have no advantage anymore, game is more casual friendly.

We can definitely thank consoles for this change. As tap/burst fire and controlling recoil is incredibly hard with controllers so it was only a matter of time until that got dumped for a more basic system.

I dont particularly care about bullet drop or burst fire or tank shell penetration values or bullet spread velocity diameters...all I care about from those who are currently playing is the answer to one question. Is it fun? Thats all I want from a game, whether its Plants v Zombies or Europa Universalis or anything in between.

I had insane amounts of fun in beta, so if people are having similar fun this evening then I look forward to returning home from work on Friday to join in :)
