*** Battlefield 1 ***

It is though, try and find a human that can take 15 shots to the chest and run off to magically reheal.

I want to shoot someone and it to actually kill them, and for them to do the same to me. Neither of which happened in the beta unless you were a sniper.

I take it you hated Battlefied 4 then as well.

You seem more excited by this prospect than the game. Are you one of those "told you so, I was right ner ner na ner ner" type people?.

Lol, no I'm definitely more excited for the game but yes some people who know me would indeed say I am one of those people but really its more that I just despise hypocrisy and hyperbole.

Fair enough, I'm now going to go through a purge all my old posts haha.

Not that I am considering buying it however, but I am a sucker for a sale if Origin have one next year.

Really not sure on this I want it partly just cause it's a break from yet another modern shooter but I know 6 months down the line they will release a premium one cheap with all dlc or just put it in ea access, secondly user reviews don't seem as positive as the press ones

well first impressions playing it yesterday were stunning. (single player)

the graphics are jaw dropping and the sound is amazing, creating an atmosphere that really makes you wanna survive....

I haven't played any MP yet because for me its about appreciating the whole game, clearly people have spent a long time creating this for us and I for one will happily pay the £50 to get hours of true enjoyment out of this. The beginning fights are just like youre in a movie, its that good! (imo)

say what you will about MP balancing issues and whether you can kill people with one shot blah blah blah, its a game, just enjoy it. if you want total realism go play arma 3.

Totalbiscuit tweeted earlier "it's been interesting to see the role reversal of COD and BF, with BF now being the 'same ****, different hat' franchise"

The whole FPS industry needs some sort of shake up, probably actually the whole gaming industry.

Why change what works?

In all honestly COD died for me when they started introducing the Jetpacks and other whacky BS. The last three games have been set in a 'futuristic' setting, that's same ****, same hat surely?

Yeah I didn't say I agreed with TB.

It works yeah, but it's getting stale. CoD have run out of ideas hence the CoD4 remake. BF are trying to change things up with the WW1 setting.

Just because something works though doesn't mean there isn't a better option we haven't yet explored. If we all sat back and did things because "it works" we never have any new ideas.

Most 35+ year olds can't handle games that require learning game mechanics, recoil control, map knowledge vehicle gameplay/infantry movement which are all the fun elements that made bf3 great.. all they wanna do nowadays is logon press W while holding left mouse button and 3600 DPI 9 button mouse until death screen.. repeat for 2 hours then go watch the only way is Essex with their other half until bed time.. that's about as casual as it gets..

In previous bf games mastering and fully learning the game ment that having that 1 player on your team was a massive advantage and could turn a game quiet easily.. bf3 jet/viper/t90 - bf4 littlebird/lav/boat etc... Instead with bf1 u get scripted crappy events halfway thru a game and every skill element goes out the window and so does the fun..

I'm off the airport.. have fun with the shiny shiny graphics..

Mmmm not sure if trolling... With over 5000 posts I would've thought that you have some degree of intelligence and knowledge of what your talking about... However...

I'm 42 mate and I can 'handle' games just fine thanks.

Started playing csgo 6 months ago and I'm a competent MG1 so your statement is full of ****.

No mention of bc2 tells me just what your experience is of bf games.

Look if you haven't got the capacity to learn a new game that's fine, I don't think you should go and watch the only way is Essex just find a different game to play... Candy crush ??

Frankly, virtually nobody I know who is 35+ would dream of watching the only way is Essex, most people I know who watch that are far younger than 35 :D

I don't know what that means? Is it like being a good soggy biscuit player?

Talking CS:Go in a BF thread - this can only end well.

:D

Lol....

I just wanted to point out that being an older gamer doesn't mean you can't learn games especially one with a steep learning curve :)

I loved bc2 not so keen on bf3 or bf4 but still put a few hours in. Played 3 rounds of mp rush and I really like it so far. I judge as I find ;)

Played another 3 rounds of conquest yesterday.

And still my biggest bug-bear is that I, as an individual, have little impact on whether the team wins or loses. There's just too many other factors in play. Still baffles me that people always want the next Battlefield game to up the player count anyway. 128 players would be even more like a tiny cog in a big machine.

I know a good squad of 5 players can probably feel like they are making a difference, so perhaps that is where the fun is, but playing 'solo queue' and joining a random squad isn't really giving me that feeling.

Another thing is that I don't really understand the 'Behemoth' spawning to try and rebalance (help) the losing team either. From my point of view, suddenly 1/6th of your soldiers are off the battlefield (capturing flags) because they are all manning guns in a Blimp or Dreadnought and I'm not sure that them randomly shooting enemies that can Respawn 10 second later anyway is much help really...

Edit - One cool thing is that I managed to spawn on a squadmate who had parachuted out of a plane and landed on the Dreadnought, and I had Dynamite and Anti-Tank grenades and between us we managed to blow it up, and jumped off as it capsized :D. Obviously there was other damage being done by shoreline canons so it wasn't just us, but we delivered the killing blow.

I'm 35, cant say I watch the only way is essex or anything similar and have been gaming since I could hold a mouse and controller so dont have an issue with gaming learning curves due to my gaming experiance, time is the only aspect these days but for the right game I'll make time

you've just answered your own question right there. clearly small battles have an impact

as for Westie and his comment about over 35 year olds tells me what I've thought about him for a long while.......
seems if he can't own in an op jet he screams 'game is ****

Good squad play is definitely the most fun aspect of BF :) Had 5 or so games last night, of which twice I ended up in squads working as a team and it was loads more fun than going solo. One game was with guys from here which was fun and another with randoms which just happened to have a decent squad leader.

BF1 doesn't seem to change squad leader if requests for orders are ignored sadly, feature I'm really missing when playing with randoms.

And this right here shows everything that is wrong with bf 1 :(

180 no scope insta kill ftw... zOMG!!!!

I am looking to get a squad together for some regulae games. So those who are actually getting the game hit me up on Origin or Steam. I have a TS server as well so we can have a squad of 5 with comms.

That makes no sense! If anything it's the 35 years + players who are used to more complicated game mechanics and deeper gameplay with dodgy graphics as opposed to the reality TV obsessed, console and iPad focussed younger players looking for shiney graphics and instant gratification over content.

:p
