*** Battlefield 1 ***

It's a joke, it's like they think if they keep on going on about how they hate it enough they will stop the people that are having fun and enjoying the game from enjoying it, and that if you do enjoy it your a casual retard who doesn't know any better and should be playing on a console anyway.

I get it you may not like the direction the game has gone, but you don't need to keep going on about it and making churlish comments about others that do enjoy the game for what it is.

Raise your gripes and issues and then leave it at that, don't sit there constantly banging the same drum all the time, if you are playing it and have genuine criticism then fine, let's hear that I am not for surpressing any criticisms that the game may have but at this stage after the beta, and the early access it's tiresome listening TO THE SAME DAMN thing all the time.

To be fair to them in that regard, I actually am casual and I dont mind if they name me in that way as there is nothing at all wrong with being casual. IMO, every gamer becomes a casual gamer and anyone who isnt simply hasnt reached the stage of life yet where they become casual. No shame in it.

I don't care about the term either, but in those views it always comes across as more of an insult than anything more akin to a console peasent than actually being a casual gamer.

Maybe it's just me as a 35 year old, but I don't see the point in being that jaded about something that you have to keep on shouting it all the time and keep up the same rhetoric all the time.

It's like deja vu coming into a Battlefield thread after another release.

The game suits a more casual market now and you could argue it's never been a truly competitive series, most people playing it will find it fun for a few weeks/months and don't give one iota about how guns work or game mechanics. EA have their money and they'll be firmly focused on the next Battlefield release.

Nothing is going to change unless there's a massive shakeup on how the majority want to spend their time gaming.

Relax, there's only about 4 people in this thread that don't like the game and they've been spouting the same old crap since the alpha over and over and over again, I read it all months ago now when I see them post I know what they've put and just ignore it, and we're the brain dead ones that watch TOWIE.

But anyway I'm cool I'm not buying this game either and I'm off to an airport, can you spell "airport" you BF1 pre-order noobs?

The people that repeatedly slate this game really want to be playing it. It's like their girlfriends in the room next door cheating on them, they've just gotta keep looking through the crack in the door to she if she's enjoying it or not, they don't like the idea of it but it's such a thrill to behold.

As a newbie to this particular topic it was just a little annoying to see, if that's what it's been like since forever, then cool, duly noted.

Lol, amazing.

i think some are just too highly strung.;)

its obvious some just like to have a little fun with wordplay on here.nothing to get upset about.

one day closer.first time really looked forward to a release for a good while.

I'm going to get early access tonight by paying £3.99, get 10% off Ultimate Noob Edition and then cancel the £3.99 when it comes out after the weekend.

You can buy origin access then cancel it immediately and you still get the month's benefits.

TBH, for those that are wanting to trial the game, instead of EA access, abuse origins/EA game refund policy:

https://www.origin.com/gbr/en-us/store/great-game-guarantee

Refund requests can be made within 24 hours after you first launch the game, within seven days from your date of purchase, or within seven days from the game's release date if you pre-ordered, whichever comes first. And if you purchase a new EA game within the first 30 days of its release date and can't play it due to technical reasons within EA's control, you can request a refund within 72 hours after you first launch the game instead of 24.

This way you aren't out any money by selling your soul to the devil (:p) and get even better play time

Might do this myself....

your a casual retard who doesn't know any better and should be playing on a console anyway.

Your words, not mine! :D :p

I will still visit the thread in hope that DICE/EA address the main issues as at the end of the day, BF was always unique in the sense, it wasn't arma and it wasn't COD but now it is more COD than ever before :(

It's a shame as there are so many games for those that want to jump in and just play for a hour or 2 without having to learn anything and then there are also plenty of games out there for those that want a more sim/realistic experience or something that has an extremely high skill ceiling.

At least with bf 3 and more so 4 the game mechanics were pretty much spot on so any niggles/issues could be overlooked.

its obvious some just like to have a little fun with wordplay on here.nothing to get upset about.

And this :p

Played for roughly 7 hours so far. Really didn't enjoy it to begin with as was just on my own and was running around objective to objective like a headless chicken. No comms with squad, no orders etc. Left feeling disappointed as I was hoping for a much different experience (why I was expecting different in a BF game I do not know).

Took a break and joined a new server last night. Managed to convince a few guys on the Squad discord channel to join with me and we had a great time 5-manning a tank and working together. Stayed on the server together for about 3 hours as we completely dominated it. Even managed to take out that big train in about 30 seconds of it entering the battle!

Playing as my go to class in games; the medic, is rewarding and infuriating as the same time as you run up to people to revive and they instantly just respawn instead of waiting and end up having to wait even longer to respawn and get into the battle

Really on the fence about buying it. If I can convince more of my regular gaming friends to open their wallets and get it for cheap then maybe. Not sure about the longevity of it either. Will probably wait until all the hype has died down after a month or so and go from there. It can be a fun game if you have regular friends to play with. Sure, I would like the old BF2/2142 back but DICE aren't the ones who are going to provide it.

Are people really that strung up on £3.99 or whatever it is to just get Origin Access for a month.

Some must be a hoot on a night out when its time get drinks in haha.

i wasnt going to sub, then literally thought its the cost of a pint or 2 coffees for a trial and a month of other games, albeit many i already own. downloading now.

EA do make a killing of folks like me in this regard
