*** Battlefield 1 ***

I've never done it, if your going to cheat, write a script, make yourself lvl 100 and give yourself a cigar, then delete game please

LOL, It's not cheating at all. Ask anyone who has ever played a competitive game of BF or COD and I think you will find a lot of players who do this. :D

What *is* cheating IMO, and is not uncommon in competitive FPS play, is recoil control macros, or placing a marker on the center of the screen.

He's obviously never played CoD4 promod or alike... 250fps, no decals etc.

Isn't it a thing to have like 300+ FPS in CS:GO too?

Edit: In all seriousness, the difference between low and ultra is a lot less than you might think, for the very reasons they are getting their jimmies in a twist. ;)

Wasn't that exploiting a bug in the quake engine (which the source engine was based on) which broke the physics? (Allowed you to jump further or run faster or something).

It may not be cheating to play on low settings but it is VERY gay! if you can max it out and get decent frames theres NO reason at all to have it on low settings

Not broke, it was very minor. The jumpers loved 250 or better still 333 fps. :)

250 was max allowed by pb.333 was best but would be a kick.you could sprint faster jump longer reload fire slightly quicker.

quake engine exploit.

If you're interested Jackfrags said he runs at all low and mesh in ultra, so just go and watch one of his videos. :)

I've only ever played MP games on low settings - regardless of the requirements/ my rig at the time.

Suppose it stems from the Cod2/4 days; squeezing out as many frames as possible to get smoother movement, jump further etc. (esp. in promod)

As others have said I always run high/ ultra on the Campaign, as it's more immersive and I can take the time to enjoy the graphics and environment.

In MP, after playing for 5 minutes I forget about pretty much everything 'cosmetic' (textures, effects, weapon skins etc.) as I'm hyper focused on shooting people before they shoot me...

Certainly wouldn't class it as "cheating" - there's no wrong or right way to play the game IMO, as long as you enjoy it at the end of the day :)

All competitive arenas at the same, if it's not explicitly ruled out then it's fair game. Ideally every would have an identical setup but that's not possible and in gaming you are given the tools to customise to your liking. To not do so due to ideology, whilst admirable, puts you at a distinct disadvantage.

I like the shiny stuff but if it means I lose more then I'm happy to be competitive :)

Swear I've got a unhealthy obsession with weapon skins, especially the black and gold one's, I'll combust when I see the black and gold Martini skin pop up, I'll be tempted to buy battlepacks to get it god help me.

Guys would running 2 different makes of 480's cards (xfx, MSI) cause a problem in crossfire?
I tried battlefield 1 which runs pretty well in 1440p on a single card, but crossfire runs not good, same performance as 1 card. it shows it's using 2 cards.
even in bf4 i get a shimmery affect when panning from left to right in 1440p.
but not on single card. just updated to the 16.11.5. any ideas?

Cheers.

If you can only play on low because of your set up, fair enough, if the above, get a life
