*** Battlefield 1 ***

Noticed a few people mention these settings, I'm guessing there's a reason for using them ?

"Low for Pro" - Basically trying to get the highest most consistent performance to minimise stuttering or drops which might interfere with your ability to seemlessly 420 no scope your enemies. Also typically with all the extra details/foliage and effect available in the graphics options, it can be hard to actually spot enemies in certain situations. In addition, some post processing effect can increase input lag.
In some cases, there will be objects which people consider to be cover which are only rendered at very high detail levels, and the person using low for pro settings just sees you lying down in the open with no cover.
Tryhards like myself tend to set everything to low except for mesh, draw distance and texture quality and remove as many post processing effects as possible.

Nobody uses these settings unless they are taking a video game a bit too seriously. It's basically cheat mode - reduced foliage, shadows etc. Makes it easier to spot other people.

Don't know why the hell you would spend thousands on decent kit to then turn all the settings down.

too achieve what Hazardo just put :p

high hz monitor 144hz high fps.also less lag when in battles.i actually think bf1 looks better on all low or off mesh ultra.too much post process blur garbage on ultra.

just finished benching with a i7 [email protected] and a 970 gtx at 1080/1440/4k

min max avg 64 man rain on scar.in action.60 sec bench runs.

will do 1070 gtx next

1080

everything low or off mesh ultra as most play

Avg: 150.917 - Min: 123 - Max: 174

1080 ultra settings

Avg: 95.417 - Min: 70 - Max: 130

1440 Max settings

Avg: 83.783 - Min: 69 - Max: 113

4k

all low or off mesh ultra

Avg: 55.800 - Min: 45 - Max: 73

4k maxxed

Avg: 47.500 - Min: 39 - Max: 55

so you dont need a mega fast gpu really as long as you got a modern i7 cpu.

970 gtx will handle game fine upto 1440.even ultra.unless you wanting high fps hz match up.which 1080 is the sweet spot for the 970/980/290/390/480

DX11 or DX12?

I agree with you

Superior fidelity is one of the main arguments against console gaming vs high end pc gaming, yet that all goes out the window for KD y0!

Some people play to win others just for fun. Everyone is free to pay their money and make their choice ;)

I play 1920x1080 everything on low apart from "MESH QUALITY" and AA POST "TAA" with an FPS of about 170. Everything on full is around 100, the game is just easier to play, the better you play the more fun it is.

Been sat on Discord for last four or five days doesn't look like anyone's active. If you fancy a game my Origin is "r0omy".

It's cheating, if you select low detail they should render low rise blocks, trees, to remove them makes it crap to those of us trying
to play fairly

Netphreak and I were on Josh's Discord last night, should be on again tonight. You're on my list already but for some reason half the friends on my origin list don't show up in game unless they join me from origin.

It's not cheating, and TBH I can't think of many FPS games where lots of people don't do this to get better frame rates and smoother play in multiplayer. Save the bells and whistles for the single player.

I've never done it, if your going to cheat, write a script, make yourself lvl 100 and give yourself a cigar, then delete game please

If people who use low settings are cheating then so are these people:

- 144hz screen users and people who are able to get a consistent 100+ fps
- 21.9 users
- £80+ headphones with a good soundcard users
- £50+ mouse with a good sensor I.e. 3360
- people who adjust their monitor settings to see more detail in the dark areas
- good quality internet connection users especially the ones who are hardwired compared to the wireless users or even high ping players can be considered to be cheating since it messes their hit box up...

All of the above give more of an advantage than using low settings.

LOL, ULQ scrub mode enabled! Thought this game might have been above that but obviously not, yet again money saved!

So people with older/lower tier GPUs who can't run the game on anything but low are cheating too.

Damn. Best get on reddit and point them this way, I'm sure the PCMR crowd would have a chuckle over that.
