*** Battlefield 1 ***

Just updated to windows 10 from Windows 7 on my Ivy Bridge i5 @4.2ghz, 16gb ram and 290x.
For some reason it runs like pooh, with the CPU hitting 100% all the time. On Windows 7 it ran near perfect 3440 x 1440 with max settings. Now it is only playable on minimum settings.
I have tried DX11 and DX12 in the game settings. I have also tried limiting FPS to the same as my monitor, which is 75hz.

Any ideas anyone? Totally baffled.

Check what is using cpu in game except bf1, some have found disabling super fetch helps. Just drop into task manager in game , especially when it goes slow to see what is using cpu..

Also turn off gamebar, game mode, the windows update option that allows ms to use your machine + internet to update other users machines and set your Gpu to prioritise performance.

Also update all drivers and possibly bios.

turn off game mode, its inbuilt recording software. makes games worse :D

Yet another "interface update" today, that's like 3 in the last few weeks, can't say i see any difference besides the original fix for match highlights.

This game..... Installed me new 144hz Gsync monitor today. Smooth as silk in game. But the bit after you die and the camera zooms out to the map view and you respawn again is a little bit jerky still.

It's the game right?

---

I'm installing a different game to see how that behaves.

I get that if Gsync is not working properly, try disabling Vsync in game and enable vsync and gsync in the NV control panel, sorts it out. Oh and cap your frames.

Edit: already beaten to it all

Anyone tried the new map? I'm left with mixed feeling so far. Currently it's a sniperfest. I love the snowy environment and I like how the terrain is all over the place. There seems to be a lack of anti-aircraft weapons, so someone in a plane can last ages. I think it'll grow on me the more I play.

I like it. It's very different.

Dunno what to say. Gsync is working properly. It's smooth in game and other games are smooth too. It's just as the map pans out that it gets a little stuttery. I have Gsync and Vsync on in the NCP. I'll try capping the frames to 144 in the game.

Is the season pass worth grabbing? I haven't really played the game too much since around when it launched but do want to jump back in.

The pass is £23.99 on origin, may be cheaper else where not really looked

I bought the pass in this current sale and I'd say go for it. You won't find a huge number of servers like on consoles but you will always find a handful, unless you are playing during the early hours. Plus considering we have only had one pack so far, people may return as and when new DLC is released.

If it's something you'll play to make your monies worth, buy it.

More tank stacking:

The behemoth can't be stopped with a tank stack, but you can go tank bowling..

In other news there seems to be a consensus building that the shotguns are broken in the latest patch. I noticed this in CTE a while back and switched to the mp18, I assumed it was DICE's way of saying "Stop killing everyone with the shotgun, this is CTE, try the new weapons!", but it looks like it's a bug. My experience last night was variable, one or 2 players would be completely invulnerable while others were falling like leaves in autumn. I suspect that this isn't a shotgun only issue, but it's more glaringly obvious with the shotguns.

Liking it here, never had a problem with snipers, it seems a close range map, mainly using support for this one.
