Installed Battlefield 2 after watching an old frag movie i made :)

I couldn't find my Special forces disk and after patching it 2 1.41 i had a go

First round i GOT OWNED horrible, i havn't played it for about a year.

I was shocked by the graphics but the GAME PLAY IS AMAIZING :D

and after 5 minutes i didn't care about the graphics

i forgot how hard it is 2 rank up :)

I had a go in the JET chooper and tank, and fully couldn't handle them anymore hahahaa

ahhh i think im gone spend some gooooooooooooooood time back on this game :D

still about 2000 server up for this game =] lovley

I've played it since day of release & still play it daily, Loads of servers up & loads of Proper squad play.
64 man Infantry only BF2 servers are my online gaming heaven :cool:
 
yeah i'm annoyed that my clan dosn't play it anymore :( and we don't have a sever either, i need to see if i can get a couple of my old clan mates on and have a game :D

that would be mint :)

You really don't need a clan or even friends on BF2 these days, Those that still play BF2 play well & use the squad system. Within 10 minutes you're squadded up & chatting & laughing whilst you go about your teabagging. The game for me just gets better & better, You can step on a public & get round after round of team/squad based play, The days of searching around for decent servers are well over & squad based play is pretty much guaranteed.
My fave class is also Medic, Love the speed & reviving & the weapon.
 
how many hours must you have on the game now? i only have 280

but i did play other games such as BF2142, might install that aswell, but i dont like Titan only like conquest and then moved on to TF2 and then COD4 :) but BF2 is my first multiplayer game

any server you can recommend? maybe even meet up for a game

I am rusty as hell man :P

not like COD4 ;)
 
Battlefield 2 is still the best multiplayer firstperson shooter out there. So many players leave it for the next gen of gaming - be it on 360, PS3 or wherever. We are all looking find the next level of gaming... unfortunatly there is no next level for online multiplayer.
The day battlefield 3 comes out will be a great day!

Cant believe i stopped playing BF2 for nearly a year, but im back playing it more than ever... you know a game is classic when its still going strong 3 years after release.

My original account has 2023 hours logged but I have had other accounts just to level up again. S'pose I must have logged up around 3 thousand hours or so :D
 
the graphics? i still think they are pretty damm good seeing as the game is getting on abit now, i mean sure it doesnt have all the fancy pants stuff opf farcry2 or crysis but large viewing distances and just the general textures work well i think :) and to be honest, give karkand a miss unless you're going to stat pad medic or resupply :p the first 10 mins or so is just a frag fest :( taking the tanks out is a good idea for this map as it "tries" to make it more about team work, have top pick servers carefully :) also from playing PR quite a bit, when ever i go back to BF2 it seems so arcade like, everyone is bunnyhopping and dolphin diving everywhere, spamming nades, and jets..... just insane :p

but i still come back for more ;)
 
For me, BF2, infantry only was pretty much the be-all and end-all of multiplayer online gaming. I spent many, many (many) happy evenings in Kharkand. In fact I spent so much time there, I remember it like a real place!

If I was a billionaire, I'd build an exact, life-size replica of Kharkand and spend my life paintballing there :)
 
Mine launches, displays the splash screen in the middle, then gives a black screen and crashes to desktop without any errors or aything. =\

This is the same on both Vista 32 and 64.
 
also search 'my documents\battlefield 2\' for video.con, I think it is. there should be at least two. Edit these and find the line with the res and refresh rate on it. changed these to something simple like 800x600 @60hz, make sure your desktop refresh is the same as you put in those files and try running again.

Once in game you can then set the res to what you want, or if it is not listed use the shortcut command line options to set the res.

chaosophy is right just edit your rez in video.con to your monitors native rez & it will start up perfect, I had to do it myself when testing a flatty.
 
can anybody remeber what to put in into the shortcut to log into the game with your password and username without bothering to click log in??

and maybe how to run the game in 1680 x 1050?
