**Battlefield 3 Patch - Let's get to the bottom of the problems**

Did a full reinstall of both Origin and BF3, making sure Avira was disabled while installing. Manualk PB update. Made no difference whatsoever. "You were disconnected from EA" everytime. Complete waste of time.

Right that didn't work,

But something of note with my problem, I could never get co-op to work before... It now does?

So I can log into their servers for co-op but can not log into other server for normal mp. Where as before patch it was the other way around.

Well i tested mine again after the patch and it started crashing again.

Have reinstalled the game and will try again tonight.

I should be able to run the game on Ultra or at least high. But it just seems to crash out. If i play on Medium it seems ok.

I'll see what it's like after a reinstall of the game.

5. Windows 7 x64 SP1
6. Problems:

a. Game will "forever" stay on Loading Level in battlelog until I manually click the icon in the taskbar, then it works fine.
b. On first load, game will either take a huge amount of time to load in or it will not load at all and crash with "BF3.exe has encountered a problem.".
c. Some servers show the wrong player limit in battelog (such as 56/8).
d. Rarely crashes on map changing when I get the black screen with the flash thing in the bottom right corner.
e. Sometimes, albeit rarely, the game won't load at all from Battelog and it stays on "Connecting..." indefinitely and is only resolved by rebooting.

6. Problems:

(Never had a SINGLE problem untill the new patch!!!!)

A. When launching the game, it opens then freezes just stays blank so i have to crl alt del to close bf3, takes about 3 launches to get it to actually fire up.

B. When changing map, it liturally decides to just freeze now and do nothing, doesn't even attempt to load a new map, so i have to ctrl alt del to close bf3.

C. When closing the game, it decides to do the same as above, just freezes.

D. When i manage to close it after any of the above by closing it in task manager, it takes about 3 mins for me to have full speed of my computer to do something as simple as get the start menu up, befor when i closed it, it would close, take about 3 seconds of being slow, then its gone.

I noticed this too last night. If you don't click on the bf3 icon in the task bar as soon as it appears it will just stay saying "loading level" in the little window in Forefox, until it eventuallly says "disconnected from EA". Clicking the icon puts you into the game. Still had the odd crash though, but it seems a fairly reliable method of at least getting it to load up the game engine. Appeared to work with coop too, though still getting crash on first game syndrome with both. Also, I had one instance of it dropping to windowed mode with a "java has stopped worked" dialog box. It has not done this since the first few days of having the game.

For those using a 360 pad (or just with one connected), you can switch off the vibration the patch introduced by going to C:/users/your name/documents/battlefield 3/settings/PROF_SAVE_profile

and edit vibration to 0

:)

They included vibration? Finally! As a guy who plays the game with his pad this is a godsend.

Anyone having issues try running memtest for windows:
http://hcidesign.com/memtest/

Been having loads of problems with battlefield, bsod, random crashes, battlefield has stopped working and all the rest of it and was starting to give up,

Ran normal memtest86+ from a flash drive overnight and no errors were found so I was about to rule out bad ram but then I tried the memtest above. This flagged up a load of errors no matter what memory settings I tried in my bios, different voltages, speeds, latencys and all kinds but no joy. So I bought myself some new kingston 2x4gb memory, installed it last night and now memtest runs fine with no errors and battlefield seems smoother than ever,

It seems this game is the ultimate stress tester as my rig was okay doing anything else,

Worth a try anyway!

Solutions i tried:

Last night i reinstalled bf3, origin, manually updated Pb updated graphics drivers still the same.

I must have tried to to login 200 times yesterday, for my own sanity i left it alone after that.

Today exact same problems, until i went into router settings and turned UPNP off and i can now play the game and have had no more disconnects.

So far so good.

UPNP what does that do?:o

so ******* annoyed at the devs right now, I paid for a game had to play about to get it to work but it worked fine with a couple tweeks. So they come and patch said game and now I get nothing no matter how much I play about. Someone wants fired for this!

You complete legend! This seems to have solved my issue (well pretty much)

I managed to get into a game, after a ton of tries, and found that my FPS has dropped drastically.

Playing on LOW with High Textures - before the patch I had about 80FPS - after the patch I have about 30FPS.

Been fine for me so far today, ive knocked my cpu back down to 4ghz, (tested with 20 linx passes). My previous 4.2ghz clock was stable a while back on the same tests, though it failed linx a few months ago. 200mhz isnt that much of a loss tbh.
