**Battlefield 3 Patch - Let's get to the bottom of the problems**

A. When launching the game, it opens then freezes just stays blank so i have to crl alt del to close bf3, takes about 3 launches to get it to actually fire up.

B. When changing map, it liturally decides to just freeze now and do nothing, doesn't even attempt to load a new map, so i have to ctrl alt del to close bf3.

C. When closing the game, it decides to do the same as above, just freezes.

D. When i manage to close it after any of the above by closing it in task manager, it takes about 3 mins for me to have full speed of my computer to do something as simple as get the start menu up, befor when i closed it, it would close, take about 3 seconds of being slow, then its gone.

I have the same system as you but I have a GTX560ti instead. I fixed all of my problems, including the ones you have mention by removing the overclock profile on the 2600 and running at stock. I havent had a single crash or lock up since. Hope that helps.
 
I had a friend with similar DirectX crash problems when loading the game. Turns out some rubbish software "Thomson" something or other - to do with communications - was screwing him up.

Last resort is to disable anything using any form of graphical rendering using directx at all. Some even say turn off Aero and such.

Just worth suggesting and posting somewhere as I never documented a fix :)
 
1. Chipset - Intel X58 (Asus Sabertooth)

2. Graphics card manufacturer - MSI HD 6950 OC Twin FrozR III Power Edition & Catalyst 11.10 Drivers.

3. Install location of game - Seperate internal drive (Samsung spinpoint F3 SATA2)

4. Copy of BF3 - English version bought from retail shop.

5. Operating system - Windows 7 ultimate 64bit

6. Problems you have encountered with details - A couple of CTD's, usually at the end of a game.

Problems have only arisen since the patch. Game was fine before that.

Solutions i tried:

Last night i reinstalled bf3, origin, manually updated Pb updated graphics drivers still the same.

I must have tried to to login 200 times yesterday, for my own sanity i left it alone after that.

Today exact same problems, until i went into router settings and turned UPNP off and i can now play the game and have had no more disconnects.

So far so good.

Nope I can confirm this is a fix for some people, I've been playing all night with no D/C

So for those who are getting a log in error and MP isn't working give this a try.

6. None, patch fixed occasional crashes on loading screen when launching game from browser.

Strange update for me, none of the suggested fixes have worked so far and I still get the black screen at the end of every round.

Except on one particular server. British Seargents' Mess 64 player HC server, no black screen freezes at the end of round. Every other server I have played on freezes.

It's so you don't have to manually forward ports. I never have it enabled for that reason. I've read the problems it has had over the years.

6. Black screen crash between rounds\maps. It just resets pc. Never had problem before patch.
Tried this patch to fix http://www.mediafire.com/?w9tzkqid3kovxnm but it has not worked.
You just unrar and paste it in your BF3 folder? Yes\No? That's what I did as someone previously stated.
They've killed it with this patch. :(:(

Solutions :

Black Screen has a fix, it's to do with a language pack which is effecting people with RU copies. I'll try find the files.

Updated english files for the RUS version of the game (not responsible for content of files)

Have you been in touch with EA?
 
this is doing me nut in now every 30 mins or couple of games my game freezes with a black screen and i have to hard reset my pc to get out of it...

any working fixes for this???

im not playing it again till its sorted...
 
Is there a solution for the micro stuttering yet or are we waiting nvidia to come up with some decent drivers?

Its the same type as what we see on the internet vidoes.

I've got a GTX 470 with the latest nvidia betas. Problem only on MP as well.

I tried that forcerenderaheadlimit 1 trick but it doens't work for me.

Do I need something else enabled as well for that to work?
