but they never implemented anything like the system in DOD.

why not ? they didnt want to and prefered players to be able to go prone quickly.

Untill it became a farce with every single infantry encounter turning into people spamming the prone key...They then made it slower and added deviation to the weapons so instaprone fire spamming wasn't possible.

Like many games it obviously wasn't something they thought would be whored out as much as it was. When it got to the point that infantry battles consisted solely of prone spamming then they done something about it.

So in the latest trailer you are forced to basically be a Carl Gustav n00b:eek::D

Looks amazing though.

Why is it that if you use something and succeed with it, you're a noob?

I got called a tank whore because I basically annihilated the other team with it. Not my fault they didn't blow me up. How am I the noob!? :p

Did i hear the word "back blast"? is this for real in bf3 i.e if you shoot a rocket launcher next to a team mate thats behind you, it can damage your team mate in the process? if so that is excellent news. one step into realism imo. this feature was great in arma 2.

I hope so, it would be a nice touch

Thats not a Gustav, its an AT4 :P

and they have developed the AT4 now to minimise backblast so it can be fired from indoors (previously it would have probably killed you if you fired it in an enclosed space..the at4-cs

not sure if its in use mind with front line troops

I agree with you...I am kidding.:)

Having said that making infantry kills with CG is too easy in BC2. You don't need to be accurate and cover doesn't matter. I remember when the game was released the CG was even more powerful and you did get servers full of Engineers where the games resembled Quake III with all the rockets flying around.

Its hard to balance a weapon like the CG I think if you want to keep the play realistic (i.e having limited CG ammo) AND you don't want tanks to get overpowered.

Personally I think a rocket launcher troop should be made, they have a sidearm and there gustav, that's all. :p

It would be helluva gimped but who cares. And I know you were joking, was just playing along. ;)

You see, you were making sense until then, now i know you don't really know what the CG is for.

RPG and AT4 are for tanks. Gustav and AT4 are for aircraft. If you're using a gustav to fight tanks, you're doing it wrong.

Damn that shipping container was seriously destroyed... even though it looks like barely penetrated the wall.

carl gustav is multi role...for use against light armour, bunkers, building or personell

at4 has a selectable warhead for use against occupied buildings or light armour

modern weapons systems are flexible these days..event he old rpg-7 has multiple warhead types

neither are suitable for anti aircraft as the warheads are unguided
