regarding buying from Origin to get the LE with Karkland

were people joking when they said the Karkland DLC expires ?

The Karkand DLC is whats included in the LE version (or the future entitlement to it upon release), and thats what will be expiring, the Limited Edition (hence the name) but there is no expiration date for the DLC, except that you'll be expected to pay for it if you didnt get the LE version.

Its an incentive to pre-order, not that they really need it, i think just video footage, the beta, past experience... all that should seal the deal, but theres DLC thrown in too.

Paul and others - thanks :)

mmm I'm definately buying it- just unsure whether to pay £10 more just to get the Karkland DLC thrown in

I mean will it be more than £10 when its released anyway

Ordered it last night through Origin.

For the sake of £10 I would rather have it ASAP rather that getting the last delivery
on the van.

Spent over £1k building a rig that can play it so £10 ain't going to kill me.

Pre-ordered this on disc and so excited. :p

I think I'm gonna have to upgrade to get the best out of it (P2 X2 550, 5770, 1080P) but I'll try it first and see what settings I can get away with (guessing low, lol!).

I'm exactly the same :) There's something very cathartic about knowing you actually have the game on your hard drive already. I bought my system just for this game, so another tenner is hardly going to kill me. I like the peace of mind knowing I can play it the moment it's available.

so when does it get released? ive read 25th for pc. started my download last night and it said pre download it ready to play obn the 27th?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I want it on 25th ive 4 days off work then. lol

28th. It's the 25th for the US, 27th for some parts of Europe (I think, or that was something to do with timezones) and 28th for the UK.

After the Doom 3 fiasco, you'd think major publishers like EA would have learned their lesson. Staggered release dates for a massive game like this equals mass piracy.

Lost of people are playing on xfire :\ mostly americans

HOOOOW :(

157 HOURS THIS WEEK? hes probably loaded the beta and left it on.....no doubt?

I'd take a guess and say the stats in the second link could be accounted for by press accounts, it was probably sent out to all sorts of sites for reviewing and i suppose some of them may use Xfire. The hours aren't very high.

God knows with the first link though, if it's not an error then it's one lucky chap.

also how is it fair getting on a server on the 28th rank 1 all green eyed and being raped by a rank 40 us guy whos been up all night for 3 days ranking up

That rank 40 guy will likely be playing on the US servers instead of ours where he would no doubt have 100ms+ ping. Besides, if it's anything like the beta there really isn't a lot of difference between a level 40 and a lowbie power wise as the weapon unlocks didn't necessarily get more powerful just more varied (except for sniper rifles).

how though. I play on us servers sometimes on bfbc2? so how do they distinguish uk from us with origin? surely there will be a way around that

It'll be to do with the first time you run it, your copy of origin will check which region you're in and compare the release date for the region to the current date. There are a few people planning on using a VPN to try and bypass this, but we'll have to wait and see if this actually works.

I completely agree that staggered releases are stupid in this day and age, but when the majority of the game is centred around online play, piracy could be difficult until people figure out how to get around the safeguards that are probably included. Still, Playing SP for a while wouldn't be bad.

Incase you dont realise you still get the DLC if you dont preorder from Origin, all preorders get it :) So just get it from the cheapest place or a retailer you trust that will get it to you on release day if that matters to you. No need to spend the £10 extra Origin is charging over most online retailers.

Ive got it preordered for £19.99 using reward points with physical warfare pack. Games have always come a day early at the latest for me from these guys.

As for the price of the DLC. If its anything like the Vietnam DLC for BC2, which I suspect it will be, it will be around £10 to buy when its released if you dont preorder

lol i iwonder if changing your system time to match the release date would work :p

They use your IP address to track what country you are from. This is why using a VPN would work although last time I tried it wouldn't let me login to Origin. I got FIFA early using a VPN though.
