Im not, no. I used War Tapes for ages when playing BC2 on th Xbox but then I went back to normal mode. I preferred clarity of sound, war tapes seemed to make everything too big and bassy. I might try it tonight and see how it sounds in BF3.

That's basically what it does, crushes the sound-stage to make everything sound louder.

I've just noticed this on the patch notes for the upcoming (date TBC) patch:

Im hoping for a proper full ejection sequence, including an animation where you pull the handle and are flung out of the cockpit on your ejection seat before it drops away and your parachute deploys.
In reality, I bet it's exactly the same as it is now, but you just don't die.
I have definitely heard footsteps and it has saved me from getting knifed a good few times.
You need to be in a quiet area of the map though as normally with gunshots and explosions, they drown out the footsteps.

Wierd.
Like I say, it's happened to me loads, even when there has been absolutely no ambient sound loud enough to drown out footsteps. I'm gonna look into this, nothing more annoying than getting knifed without knowing about it
EDIT: Seems I'm not the only one with this problem.

You know there's a patch coming right which fixes the Footstep issue ?
Obviously not, or I wouldn't be asking. Can you elaborate? I was hoping this was the case to be honest, as I couldn't believe it would be a design decision.
There was a tweat reply by a developer regarding the issue and that it was to be in the upcoming patch NO ETA. If i find the link again will post it
i removed fxaa after a couple of days. think the picture looks nicer without it. fxaa made everything blurry, and it didn't fix the colours as well as i thought ti was going to.
you can adjust various settings in the fx injector but that may trigger other things like a kick or ban maybe.
that is why i stopped using it until it gets the okay and then will tweak. last time i checked one of the head pb people had been trying using it and said it should be okay. wish they would just give it the green light already.

You do know that on the spawn screen you can hover over your loadout at the bottom of the screen amd change it from there without clicking customize?

Same here. I installed it, but it didn't look as good as everyone was raving about. It also made the in game text very undefined. Seeing as I couldn't be arsed to muck around with settings, I decided to just uninstall it.
