id like to thank my victims for there silly noobness and my awesome repair skills :p

especially cleeco and newmo who is the dude running round the rock at the end :D . did these on matts server earlier :D

I think I became a mortar whore last night and ****** so many people off ;)

Then became a Jihad jeep man

My best kill though was spotting dgeesio (i think?) coming towards my jihad jeep in his own and I bailed out and hit my c4 just as he crashed into me and I blew his jeep and him up :D

I also managed to kill Cleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeco in a heli with a tank shell but his own fault for flying str8 at me at low height ;)

Heh JG, enjoy them. TBF I was having a particularly poor game last night and couldn't hear people approaching... Until last night I'd taken 66 tags and lost... 7. You took what, 3 off me?!
 
I enjoyed that game on Grand Bazaar last night DG, I don't play TDM much but that was really fun. When I asked about the grenade launcher and you said you preferred I didn't use it, it made me use the M26 Mass (I think that's what it's called), the underslung thing. WOW! It is AWESOME! :D
 
Played a round on Caspian Border last night, got 10k points overall, and 44/23 [something like that] KD/R. I'm still using the starting weapons as i want to unlock everything for them, so i got like 39 kills with the RPK, some with the tank and 4 knife kills, i got sloppy near the end of the match as it was a 1000 ticket server, so i started to get bored.

Afaik, BF:BC2 you could hear enemy footsteps, BF:3, i'm not so sure because usually explosions and **** are going off left, right and centre.

Several times I've been knifed by a player I was completely unaware was there. No footsteps whatsoever, one minute I was on my own looking out of a window, next moment I'm having a knife stuck in my chest. Even when there is very little ambient sound, I have never heard a player approaching me, and I've never heard other players on the move either.

At first I thought it was because Im only running a 2.1 setup, but even with headphones I can't hear enemy players. It's a shame as the sound engine is otherwise fantastic.

My current Turtlebeach headset is quite bass heavy (was one I got for the xbox) and is powered via the usb.

Immersion wise they are fun, but with the explosions etc, there is no real ability to pick out footsteps. In fact, I'm pretty sure I cannot hear anything when it is quiet.

I guess I need to find out whether there is any benefit by investing in a Xonar card and better cans (Sennheiser 350 for example)
 
I've heard someone coming once.
Only late enough to kinda jib about a bit before being shanked :)

EDIT - always wear Sennheiser HD570's.

You can defo hear footsteps. Often i've been standing somewhere on Bazaar and heard a player coming from around a corner = easy kill.

It's pretty accurate too as you can tell where they are coming from.
 
yeah squirrel was pretty decent round bit campy sometimes but prefer the smaller close games with no spam ;) .

as for hearing people i often hear a lot of things from reloading to footsteps near by. this angers my mate on ts as headphones are better than speakers lol (i use big speakers )
