Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

Check on youtube for "battlefield 3 shenanigans", about 12 episodes of random crap with people that at times are laughing like theyre high as kites. Episode 6 has plenty of weird bad luck deaths.

Finally done it :D

469th in the world (198th in the world in tanks) glad its top 500! woulda been a lot higher but as its my first BF game and first ever game ive played with vehicles and first 250 hours or so i was awful at this game so ive had to learn everything from scratch! been a wicked experiance tho loved every minute and looking forward to patch and DLC!

Tbh, i cant see this game lasting much longer than a few more months. It's already boring, crappy small maps, seriously bad net code and hit reg issues. Heck, bfbc2 is an older game and it plays far better, and a much more enjoyable experience. At least in it when you shoot someone you get a kill.

You lasted a while.
Only took me a month to realise how shallow and crappy the game was compared to real Battlefield games. Oh well, Planetside 2 is coming out soon hopefully.
 
Pre the karkand map pack release it was great, after it came out. It went downhill very quickly. Console style client detection on a pc game, the idiot that thought that up should be shot tbh.
 
i think out of 43153 kills 2-3 of them havent happened cause of the netcode! so it aint bad for everyone! i have absolutely no problem with the netcode especially on matts server things die so fast i love it!
 
For me westie, it's terrible. Im on bt option 3, supposedly upto 8mb i barely get 2 on a good night. Its very frustrating tbh. Ive even stopped trying to use the knife in game now. A few days ago, me and dg were on a tdm server, i went to knife a guy, it didnt register. I had to shoot him in the head at point blank range with an m40 sniper rifle, even that took two shots.

Agreed!, the developers should be shot with a mortar up side the face

Take last night for example, guy runs up the stairs I fire my rpg at his face he just shrugs it off WACK i'm dead, this on a hardcore server lol

I've ran into a lot of defibrillator problems at times. Sometimes takes two shots to revive someone with 35 - 50 ping while 8 - 10 people are in the arch opening.
 
I sometimes think it isn't so much as a hitreg problem but more of a lag issue even if your ping is very good!.

Take last night on matt's server, guy was in the corridor at distance I only just caught him in the corner of my eye but I fired in panic. I completely missed him on my screen, shooting some way to the left. I KILLED HIM!!!, there is no way in hell my shots were even on target yet the game seems to think I was. Seeing that there is no wonder at times I get tons of hit markers on people yet wack i'm dead. Being killed upto 3secs behind cover from a distant sniper is damn fustrating too, another sign of what I see on screen isn't actually happening.

Was never an issue PRE-DLC or BFBC2
 
Its just the way the game decides to derp the 2 sides of information.

Sometimes i can shoot a guy across a field with 1 burst and hes down. 6, 7 bullets max.

At other times im close close up to a dude and start shooting him in the torso and up just spamming ur mag and a guy walks away or even worse turns around and downs u within 2 bullets (according to your screen).

Which is why I rage quit, yet people like Westie apparently doesn't happen to, but this isn't every night. Some nights are perfect!. However i'll say this again, there was NEVER an issue before the DLC came out, when that patch was released it was perfect.
 
I really wish they had just updated the graphics and physics engine of BF2142 - that game worked perfectly, had good hit detection, decent maps, fun game modes and even with people spamming grenades/pk rockets down the corridor in titan it was still possible to get down there without cheating.

In my time in 2142 (500+ hours) I only saw about 2 hackers. BF3 I've come across so many people wall glitching on Metro or being banned for multihacks/aimbots it's unreal.
 
I never actually played 2142, as I was too hooked on BF2. I put in about 800 hours in that game, and will likely never put even a quarter of that time in to any other.

Only after lots of patches.

Titan mode was glitchy as hell at launch !!!
