just got a new 7850 to go with my aging core2duo wolfdale @ 4ghz to find unstable 30 fps at 1080 res with all settings to low

Graphics card load : 30% (im so glad i overlocked it to 1100 :/)
Cpu Load : ....100% on both cores!

gaaaaaaay, thank god i ordered an i5 2500k this week lol :p

I went from a Q660 @ 3.0~ Ghz to a 2500K @ 4ghz..doubled the ram etc...im just held back by my 460GTX, but soon, when the newer mid range cards comeout i might jump that ship too.

Dont know what setup youre getting but my build is rock stable and i love it!

Bf3 is ultra is something special indeed been playing it in ultra all weekend and i love it! Not been playing as good but its gorgoues to look at!

yeah i went for the high frames for a while, but its an injustice, i can't do full ultra, but i mix and match now, its gotta be a balance between being a frame whore and a graphics junkie
 
The game does loook nice on ultra with x4 msaa, but sadly my 470's cant cope with all the bells and whistles, (hot running which doesnt help). Gonna ditch them for either a gtx 680 or a pair of gtx 670's.
 
anyone not sure about what ultra is like but want to get at least 60 fps do this

set all settings to high then spread butter or marmite on your screen you now have ultra with same fps :p

needs more blur on tbh :)
 
Fired this up again after peer pressure from x5 people : )

My System is decent for 50 fps on High/ultra. But one thing is driving me nuts and I cant work it out.

When i get stabbed or Stab someone the "cut scene" animation is completely jerky... Like a slideshow or sometimes just 1 or 2 slides... Like i say it happens both ways too. Its mind blowing i have no idea why it does this.

Next time i play ill put everything down to the most basic possible but im sure it still happens even then, thus making me think its not actually a problem there.

Have you adjusted the network slider? turning that down causes this.

Setter, try this.

Create a bf3 user.cfg file. Put these lines and save.

RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 1
gametime.maxvariablefps 59.95
renderdevice.triplebufferingenable 1

Does that make your framerate much more stable? I noticed using the perfoverlay visible that using the above in the cfg made my framerate much more stable at 4xaa.

I actually play with blur off, but im going to try it on. No doubt it will just give me a headache but hey. :D
