Is anyone using a standard GTX 680 with this game? It seems to get a little hot for me, it's a struggle to keep it under 70c. I set the fan to 80% at 65c and so far the highest it has reached is 69c. The card is at stock so I feel it's getting a little toasty.
Mine seems to stay around 60 at +150/+450 so somethings wrong. It's possible that your block has not been fitted securely however the only way you can tell is to void the warranty.
I read that at 70c the card will throttle itself, that's the main reason I wanted to get the temps down a little.
Pc spec and setup is spot on mate, a 4 week old install of windows hp 64, bf3 is the only game on my 120gb ssd. Blindingly quick load times into a round. System is prime blend/small fft/LinX 50 passes stable, gpu's oc'd to a very modest 750mhz on stock volts, (a mediocre clock for gtx 470's). Upnp disabled on my router, (netgear dg834pn), game allowed via firewall and anti virus. My connection isnt great ill admit, bt option 3. But the game ran a lot better a few months ago.The problems not with the game man, mine runs with no issues what so ever.
Maybe investigate your computer configuration?
What case have you got? Ive recently found, a case with poor intake will up gpu temps.71c is toasty? since when...

I used to run my system in a high end Lian Li case, excellent airflow. I was able to run my gtx 470's on a custom fan profile, no frame limit set. Now using a bitfenix shinobi xl case, terrible airflow. Have to run a frame limiter in game to keep temps down. Old and new case below.

I might go back to the Lian Li, as it's a much better case for cooling, shame it's bare aluminium inside.
That was an option Kiwi, but ill be getting shot of both of them shortly. Either a single gtx 680 or a pair of gtx 670's in sli, depending of course on price. The 470's are great overclockers, mine are factory oc'd gigabytes, 630mhz core. Though i run them at 750mhz on stock volts of 0.987, theyre bench and game stable at 800mhz on 1.012v but stuck with stock coolers. Hence theyll be gone soon. You could also watercool those cards. Once watercooled they run like a dream and can be almost silent![]()
