It plays better on console with only 24 players.

Every game i've ever played on that map has gone one of two ways

1. Stalemate
2. the other team gets spawn trapped and spawn raped.

I've been spawn trapped almost as many times on the RU team as i have the US team which leads me to believe that the strength of your team is more important.

To be honest, i expect with 64 players it would just end up in stalemate all the time !

I've played both sides and have spawn trapped both RU and US many times. The important thing is to PUSH THROUGH even if it means dying many times. You're never going to get a free run through but if you get a group on voice comms it is possible to push through, even on a 64 man server. The number of people that just stop at B, no matter which side they're on and just stay there is unbelievable. PUSH THROUGH and win usually!

All I know is in the beta my hit registry was a lot better.
The game was nigh on perfect till the back to karkand dlc release. After that it has went downhill very quickly. They added in this gimmicky network slider thing, what an utter waste. It does nothing whatsoever. A total waste of time that could have been used in any other aspect of the game. The hit reg is the worst ive ever seen in a pc fps, and ive played quite a few. Heck even dice's own moh 2010 is better. It's a bit of a marmite game, but the reg is perfect and it's a lot better looking than bf3, less cluttered looking. It took 3rd party fxaa developers to improve the look of bf3.

What I don't like about the visuals is there's so much that hampers your vision, from RDS, flashlight to dust, smoke and even the sun!

I only got the game yesterday but I won't play it much more, as soon as Diablo comes out I will most likely never play it again, mostly due to the hit registry and lag compensation. I'm just glad I only paid £12 for it.

That was an option Kiwi, but ill be getting shot of both of them shortly. Either a single gtx 680 or a pair of gtx 670's in sli, depending of course on price. The 470's are great overclockers, mine are factory oc'd gigabytes, 630mhz core. Though i run them at 750mhz on stock volts of 0.987, theyre bench and game stable at 800mhz on 1.012v but stuck with stock coolers. Hence theyll be gone soon.

I think you would only need one GTX680 for your res as I can run this game at 2560X1600 on ultra via TXAA at constant 60FPS. In saying that, i'll be buying another 680GTX as soon as I have the money as I still think MSAA > TXAA.

I understand your reasons for wanting to upgrade though. The 470/480's are very old now. I still miss both of my 480's however. They didn't clock very well but ran BF3 very nicely at 1920X1200, however just did not have enough ram at 2560X1600.

Don't forget that damn mini map. I hate it. It hardly shows any enemies. Then sometimes with all the sun glare and flashlight glare, I'm shooting blind. I still love the game though.

I used to run my system in a high end Lian Li case, excellent airflow. I was able to run my gtx 470's on a custom fan profile, no frame limit set. Now using a bitfenix shinobi xl case, terrible airflow. Have to run a frame limiter in game to keep temps down. Old and new case below.

I might go back to the Lian Li, as it's a much better case for cooling, shame it's bare aluminium inside.

I'm not running as much hot hardware as you, but Ive found the cooling of my Shinobi case to be excellent.
