Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

had a quick go last night on some CTF

have to say it could be quite fun, however on the couple of servers I played on, people seemed to have no idea on how to play lol

CTF you need some people to go for the flag and some to defend your own flag?

every game I played, had no one defending our flag and no one attacking the enemy flag - just lots of snipers hiding in the middle of the map shooting at each other, had one round where I defended the flag alone for the entire 20 min round without seeing a single teammate!


motorbikes were fun though

Regardless of game type, snipers were literally everywhere when i played last night or there were people too afraid to move.
 
Loving the air supremacy games :D

Luckly not that many people do the whole "Circle Jerking" like that do in normal conquest maps.

Its quite funny watching everyone trying to avoid each other.

ok cool thanks! i went for the newer one as that makes sense i suppose but i imagine they are similar! thanks for the suggestion :) also im glad i googled free delivery for here as i didnt realise active forum members get next day for free :) saved me like £7 :)

Had the opposite. Played 3-4 games of CTF (across two different servers) that out of the 32 people on each time at all times at least 20 were defending... all games ended 0-0 :p

I'm sure it will develop however - most people are still in the "omfgmotorbikes" phase.
 
Air Superiority is great, simply because there are so many birds in the sky that you don't get mangled quite as easily (esp. if you are an average pilot like me) because you have wing-men most of the time. Still, if you find yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time, you will get owned.

CTF I have mixed feelings on - it slows when you are moving to the Enemy Base with the middle-ground offering a massive distance to cover, and it appears to be littered with Engies and Recons for SOFLAM/Javelins - which makes motorbiking a 50-50 chance of being obliterated en route. Also lots of camping at the Base(s), meaning you need 2 really balanced teams to get the most of the game type.

Had some giggles yesterday when placing AT mines at the landing area for one of the Motorbike jumps - guaranteed kills and priceless "wtf" moments for the attackers.
 
I quite like the DLC, others I play with are not that impressed. I think DICE have done a very good job when you look across the spectrum of maps that are available to play from the standard game + DLC's, there is something for everyone. The graphics on the Riverside or Train maps from the new DLC are some of the best yet in my opinion and it got me killed more than once from just looking around me at my surroundings lol.
One thing I will say about the new maps is that I had better time playing normal than hardcore as they are a snipers wet dream.. So much long grass and massive bushes to hide in or hills and structures.
Also they are 64 player maps in my opinion as much less than that and it seems a bit empty, but on a random 64 man normal server last night it was great fun with intense battles. Now if dice had put in VOIP the game would be nearly perfect in my opinion, heres hoping they sort it for BF4 :p

Love this game mode, if only i could fly better lol.

Video i made to show my friends who play on consoles how battlefield should look, well that and for fun.

What confusing is some of the Jet aces can manouver so quickly and quickly outflank you before you know whats happening?.

Do most simply use a x box controller or am i along the wrong track with thinking to get a Flight stick???

Any vets out there who are ace pilots or have the 100 frags kill stats, would be really interested in you opinions?

Keyboard and Mouse always trumps controller and Flight stick.

They use keyboard and mouse, i mean, primarily i prefer my xbox controller, but sometimes i cba to move to it and use keyboard and mouse instead as i'm already using it.
