I hope they include a fire mode selector for every weapon.

Many people don't see the importance in this, stating that you could just click the mouse button quickly for single shots. While this is true, it's not the most elegant solution, especially for high rpm weapons. I also think it promotes steady shooting and accuracy, over weapon spamming (spray & pray) as is clearly evidenced by the gameplay in BC2.

Also, the ability to lean would be nice too.

oh yes absolutely! if there aren't selectable fire-modes for every weapon applicable, i'm returning the game as defective and going back to BF2!

maybe...

seriously though, the fire-select ability in BF2 meant that almost all the assault rifles in the game were capable of quite long range work, i've gotten kills with the M16A2 at silly ranges thanks to semi-auto.

that said, i do hope that weapons in semi can be fired as fast as you can pull the trigger, like real weapons can, it annoyed me in BF2 when you couldn't fire a weapon in semi auto at more than about 200 rounds a minute

I can pull a trigger 18 times a second if it's light enough and has space for 2 fingers :)

LOL. Well, I am at hamburger hill on Saturday 5th March so I am happy for you to come prove it :p Call it 20 pulls of an imaginary air trigger and I will confirm that you are not talking out of your ass ;)

I still can't help think its going to be a ladyboy game. Deceiving good looks but packing a great big dreadful ****

Some people like that kind of thing

Seriously though Iam skeptical but I reckon something similar to BC2. Not half as great as it could be but not crap either, probably worth buying at some price

I only just got bc2 because of the steam sale and as suspected its fairly silly /frustrating but also fun sometimes.

Hopefully I'll be able to figure out what bf3 plays like beforehand, a demo like bf2 had would be nice but like a lot of things I dont think they will repeat that kind of quality. Demo was so good there it was a game in itself, I played it for months while saving up for a proper graphics card

Graphics wise, it looks like it'll seriously tax even the best machines.
Some people like that challenge also but I also believe it will play on very low grade machines also, they are pretty good about making things scalable so it might take 800x600 and scratchy textures but I expect 25fps even on an ati 3850

When bf2 came out a lot of the old and not so old gc were not even on the supported list for the game. The nv 6series was out and some of the lower spec 5series (yes i know 5 series was poo) did not run the game. I think min specs are going to be 8800 card or higher.

Awesome, prone is back! I cannot wait for this :) I hope it'll run on a Macbook Pro on bootcamp or something when i'm at uni :D I thought 64 players and large maps were also confirmed?

Off ROF cap is limited to 15 so can't prove that I can hit 18, but here's the closest I can get to proof. I can video the settings just to show it's on semi if needed ;)
