Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Theres plenty of recoil from all guns especially the engineer guns, some more than others, if you ask me its spot on, keep your figure on the mouse and you hit nothing, controlled short bursts and you drop em in a second.

From watching videos i.e. xfactors videos, guns do have quite a bit of recoil, the ak12 looks a beast though, perhaps a bit op.....

LVLcap has said that all the guns have a nice feel to them and are well balanced and that nothing really stands out from the crowd (except the 50 cal and usas [imo should be left out of the game or left as a standard weapon with proper balance not just add an OP weapon for the sake of it ).

I personally prefer the blue/darker look. Seemed more moody; more 'war' like.

I just couldn't get on with it :(

- made it a lot harder to see people in shadows/darker areas especially when you are standing outside somewhere bright and someone is camping in a building i.e. on caspian with regards to the shelters/sheds

- strained my eyes after a while :o

- overall the textures etc. didn't look as good and nothing stood out, everything just blended together and as a result it felt like there was no "life" to the game imo

I'm getting back into this now as a Battlefield BC2 veteran - 1000+ hrs, B3 - 100 hrs. Now I absolutely despised Battlefield 3. Simply awful. :)

so lets see if Battlefield 4 gets me interested again.

I don't know why I changed it actually, I usually leave things at default but I thought 90 was more natural.

Having said that, everything did look a bit weird (aspect ratio wise)

I might change it back. Couldn't tell you about the effect on FPS to be honest.

its very hard to control the heli when getting hit by stingers... the physics are greatly improved and helis are insanely fun to fly with a gunner on TS..

Well the problem I'm seeing is this, I was in a situation a couple of times yesterday where my heli was damaged and I bailed out pretty low to the ground and survived, my heli which while in the air was burning and at 12% health had landed next to me fire out and immediately was already repairing itself. The second time it happen was virtually identical hit by a heatseeker from another chopper and I was able to do the same thing and get back into the heli while it was at around 20% and fly along like nothing had happened.

You'd think it would have to be repaired to around half health at least for it to be flyable, and whys it start repairing itself as soon as you bail out anyway? They just seem to have ratcheted the vehicle regen up another level and if you can bail out from a lowish height and keep the chopper fairly level while doing so it seems to just float down beside you and start regenerating on the way down. You'd think you would have to bring it upto around 50% or thereabouts for it to be flyable and need an engineer to do it. As it stands now it seems like the Engineer is optional and critically damaged choppers seem just as effective as fully charged ones.

The repair mechanic just seems to have been dumbed down even further. :(

*"£$*" Rage Quit, typical Battlefield *****

Shot a guy clean in the face TWICE with a sniper rifle with his head going back, he fires at me with his assault weapon one hit and i'm dead.

I detest Domination!

Sniper rifle seems to still have the old problems with going right through people quite often, assault rifles, etc. seem far more reliable overall though than older BF games.

I don't seem to be finding very skilled players. Of my three wins, I've been top of my team on all three occasions and I'm happy to admit I'm a pretty terrible player.

I do have an issue with this as well actually, I've jumped out of a burning chopper a few times only to get back in 5 seconds later when it's magically healed itself.

On the whole my experiences have been positive though.
