Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Typically it's best to leave all the long range snipers alone if they're on the other team. The kind of player who does that is invariably terrible and won't hit anyone anyway so they're a waste of a slot if your team just ignores them. But as soon as you have 2-3 people deciding to chase him, hes become valuable. Also if you're the one on the team with 5-10 people sitting on hills sniping, leave, they've lost you the game.

A good rational analysis and the only thing that keeps me from raging when I repeatedly get shot by (different) snipers.

Hmmmmmmm...

Just been using the attack boat and now while firing a TV missile someone else can get in your seat in the boat. This leads to you both being in the drivers seat. Once the boat was destroyed the game crashed. lol

Having loved BC2 and slightly enjoyed BF3, I'm enjoying BF4 very much indeed. Loving the Obliteration mode as it really promotes good teamplay, even with a bunch of randoms.

Reached Rank 10 the other day and tried commander mode, which I found a bit confusing. Either no one was asking for orders, or I didn't see where they were being displayed. There was only really one squad that was doing as it was told anyhow!

I could do with a decent tutorial of commander mode. First impressions though are that it seems an awful lot more nerfed than BF2 Commander mode was.

One more thing.......mounted guns/turrets etc in tanks seem awfully weak now against infantry. Anyone else notice this??

I too would like to see a Commader mode tutorial - I assume Youtube will be awash with them fairly soon.

Regarding mounted guns, they seem to have removed the 'splash damage' from them, you you need to actually hit the infantryman, rather than hose the general area. I find it tricky, but it does mean you occasionally get a 'headshot kill' with a 50-cal machine gun, which makes me feel like a boss.

Hardcore mode is great fun when you find the camping snipers that sit at the edge of the map,I like to go in nice and dirty on them with a shotgun or when I see 2-3 around the same spot I plant claymore around them and fire into the sky to make them panic like wild animals:D

That's my view, either that or jump in the mini bird "hello boysss, I'm backk" :D

Mortars are made for snipers! plant two of them on there little head good bye! It is always great when they clump up in 3-4's snipers and you place mortars on them :D

Well after playing this for the last couple days, I can say I am finding it pretty easy, considering I never played BF3 and didn't play much of the BC2 multiplayer.

I'm consistently getting a K/D of 4/1, and for some reason I keep getting put as the squad leader, so I get a ton of points for essentially doing nothing but pointing at the Rush objectives and telling my squad to.. well rush it lol :D

Playing as engineer mostly to unlock some carbines and eventually want the SMAW.

Also found the support class to be good as the starting weapon works very well on single shot mode so you can just click away without the recoil.

Ah was just going to say the same...

Anyone using a tablet for Commander (when its unlocked) and battle screen etc? What's your opinions people? I'm looking at getting one anyway so just wondering what people are using. Nexus 7, iPad, Tab? Other?

I've not tried Commander yet but I use my iPad for a the battle screen map. Great addition and when I play without it keep finding myself wanting to look at it.

Not sure on the maps currently, seem very vehicle focused with not much you can do to stop them.

Well, i spoke too soon.
Just cannot get to the airfield on South china (sp campaign) seas without it crashing constantly.

When i buy a new game like this at release, i usually play the SP until they iron out most of the MP bugs.....looks this BF4 has kicked us all in the nuts with both modes.

EA/DICE.......... **** you, ok?!

anyone else get lag/stutter when they are on boats and they go beneath the waves on paracel storm ? happens every single time for me without fail.

Not found any lag or stutter on boats, but I have seen a glitch when you are swimming. It's like you're only 'allowed' to see underwater at certain points, as when I tried last night it wouldn't let me, or would let me see under for a few seconds, but it looked awful and it was like I had noclip on.

Then a wave hit me, and I was underwater with all the fancy graphics again.

Have to admit I am really enjoying the game so far. I haven't really had any issues with low FPS or anything, playing at max (I5 3570K, 7970 OC) and getting around 80-100FPS.

The game feels a lot smoother than BF3 and plays the way that I wanted BF3 to play, so I guess I am saying that BF4 is what BF3 should have been. To some they are saying it is just a map update, but I do much prefer the feel of BF4.

The only issues so far that I have had is some servers being crazy laggy and random game freezing/crashing, but I didn't have a single one yesterday :)
