Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Does anyone else get the feeling BF4 was designed for console?
The maps are all very small in comparison to BF3. Playing a game on a map classed as "conquest large" but can't help thinking 64 players is far too many. I now play on 32 player servers, sometimes 48. There isn't a single map designed with classic battlefield gameplay in mind that can support 64 players :(

Checks ingame menus. Looks 1280x720p instead of 1920x1080p. Yep console written all over it.

I actually don't mind that - in BF2 you could run for miles take a flag and not see anyone and inevitably if you stayed holding a flag no one would turn up to try and take it but if you left to try and find some action inevitably the enemy would take the flag behind you but be long gone by the time you got back. That and the hit reg are the reasons I stopped playing BF2 - atleast in BF4 you don't have to wait too long to find some action.

Bit random but was on Rogue last night and was camping the crane on E flag doing some pld stuff (good view up there). Squad mate spawns on me and I watch as he tries for about 30 seconds to jump over the railings , trying every one several times. You could tell by his animation he was getting arsey and I was just watching and p---ing myself. Eventually he gives up and climbs the ladder before chuting off.

Oh and thanks for the headshots Penus :p

Those points really rack up if you stay and defend the flag , particularly on the enemies gimme. Spam some mines out and grease up your rpg ftw

Just been looking on the BF4 updates thread on origin, and they have 500 pages of complaints, only a game with the EA name on it could achieve that medal !

To be fair its very nearly an awesome game if they'd just paid a little more attention to getting the fundemental things right like sound playback, hit reg, stat logging, etc. (a lot of the crashes seem to be due to some tiny little basic bugs in the way the browser plugin and game process/server communicate) and put out a couple more maps that were new and of high quality it would have been 10x better received by the community.

Ahh so EA/DICE are investigating the netcode issue?

Great so now those troll's can shut the hell up about it being my end or MY ISP

Idiots :D

ERrm... has anyone else got "XP Boost Currently Active!" in BattleLog? I have just logged on to check out stuff and it's just there...

WTF?

Is this to make up for it being down for hours?

Thats not a great example really though of how bad the hit reg can be.

Wish I had a recording from flood zone last night where 3 guys were running in a straight line down an alley away from me and not a single shot would register (no one is that bad).

this good ? :D

Had a netcode example before. Lockers normal mode - some guy came around corner crouching, I emptied a ****ing clip of ACE into him and bosh, he turns to shoot me once. Epic
