Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

I take it the fact that golmund railway is now a virtually flat textured flickering mess is due to the window lickers at dice and this latest "update". Thought my graphics card was humped for a minute. :mad:
Yep, flickering bug effects xfire/sli users only im afraid.

Shot for the games guys. Was fun apart from when my PC completely crashed!

Still wish I knew why I suck so bad at this... Maybe been on consoles too long.
 
Good rounds tonight! :D Playing with good squad/team from here is what really makes this game special :)

Unlocked the phantom prospect dog tag earlier tonight too! :D

And lol at the last round on paracel, took the aa into the sea and went to the bottom, could stay there for as long as I wanted, couldn't kill people and no one could hit me either, had like 4 guys swimming after me trying to c4 me lol

I havent been on for a few weeks and im seeing a couple of players with a pink lvl is this like a prestige thing or something??

Got the revive glitch on every revive tonight. Never seen it before. gg DICE.

Overall,

- hit reg. seems better to me, die and kill quicker, just a shame there are so many invisible walls/textures still
- the majority of my tank shells registered on the helis tonight as well! :eek:
- no crashes so far
- seems to run a bit smoother

No point comparing the skill stat in bf3 to bf4 it's based on completely different things....

Bf3 = kills and deaths depending what rank u was..

Bf4 = defending capping flags, PTFO repairs basic team play etc..

Managed over 1800 skill (jet) in bf3 and not really tried that much but think vehicle whoring in bf4 my highest is only 650.

Playing domination increases ur skill a lot too.

Prefer how this skill is worked out, with bf 3 it was a joke, just spend one match in a tank etc. and kill loads of high rank people and your skill could jump from 400-1000 easily :o

And vice versa, get killed by low rank newbies and your skill could plummet completely.......

Bf4 = defending capping flags, PTFO repairs basic team play etc..

It's related to you score per minute, K: D ratio, and kills per minute.

Hence why domination is good for skill and conquest not, because on a lot of conquest maps you roam from flag to flag not seeing anybody
 
Yet weirdly since this patch I only have to look at someone with the 30mm cannon on the attack chopper and they die :S (think they might have ramped up the area of effect on it) but struggling to get much in the way of hit reg with anything else.
 
Be interesting to see if any other heavy mg's have got a damage boost, a pistol is more lethal than those things in some situations.
 
Just died while, according to my screen anyway, my target and the person who shot me (being that they were the same person) didn't even turn to face me. They were facing away from me and I died, shot by the person who was still facing away from me.

Also some stuttering and lag but only tried one server. I did manage a complete round on Siege of Shanghai without crashing though!!

Whoever it was moaned about QA do you honestly think 200 people (Even though I doubt DICE had that many testers alongside normal staff) even playing 100 hours of QA each (20,000 hours total QA time which is probably a lot in this industry) could get anywhere close to the sheer number of hours played and people playing in the first DAY never mind months after launch! If the game sold 5 million copies and people played for 2 hours on the first day that's 10,000,000 hours of playtime!? Of course there are going to be bugs but they were forced into releasing early by EA. If they delayed it no doubt loads of people would be moaning about it.

Apart from the UCAV / SUAV situation nothing has changed to any guns / missiles.

You do have a point, but there are fundamental things which don't work which should have been picked up by any half-decent test automation tool. E.g. in most maps there are collision boxes on destructible scenery that don't change when the scenery object does. There are also completely retarded gameplay mechanics that should have been picked up in the first hour of playtesting - e.g. how often in real life do you find yourself trying to walk through a door with a threshold bar at it and wondering why you aren't moving until you jump?
