Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

I think the reason they stopped the full destruction was because every round you'd just have people purposefully blowing up any kind of structure they could find, instead of focusing on killing/objectives. On a real battlefield you wouldn't go round leveling every single building to rubble. It's not exactly the blitz is it or coordinated US air strikes to level zones lol :p

You can bring it down on top of othe people. It just takes some getting use to where those C4 need to be placed.

I suspect is something like that. Due to the fix area of a battle, after a while there is only an empty field left and that's not fun at all. At the same time, more physics will require more CPU power and that's not easy to come by. :)

Yup, the destruction sucks in comparison to BC 2. That was one of the main things that made it so good, it changed how you played/the environment.

Heck you can't even run a few trees/poles down with a heavy tank going full speed, the tank just comes to a halt as soon as you go into anything like that. :/

And yes, supposedly the reason they limited the destruction was due to the battlefield just being flattened in the end, personally I didn't see the problem with it though, the round was usually over by the time it was really bad and it meant that you couldn't just camp, always had to be on the move.

Oh and no terrain destruction/holes, had it in the alpha/beta but people were glitching/falling through the map so DICE just removed it and didn't bother to fix it, too much work.....

And to echo what other people have been saying, won't be touching BF 4, no faith/interest in DICE any more and don't want to support a company like them and most definitely don't want to support EA, besides getting bored with modern shooters now.

There are still a few parts in bf3 where you can fall through the map. On one of the aftermath maps, (think its talah market). Screenshot i took a few weeks ago.

A few seconds later the guy in front just dissapeared.

Yeah there are still many many ways to fall through/glitch through the map :(

With the terrain destruction is was far too easy though. Pretty much anyone who proned in the hole, fell through the map :p

Who needs reveals when you have Mr. Insider DG himself on the forums.

like i said but no one ever believes me

i said there would be trailer earlier and roughly when. i know when its being released and other details but cause its all lies no one wants to know so ill keep to myself thank you.

Possible ? definite I'd say. Interested to see the release date and if it is indeed BF4 that comes out next.

Not full collapsing of buildings like in bfbc2. On certain buildings you can blow out peices of the walls.

it does but there aren't many of them. Theres about 3 buildings i can think of.

There is the double garage type thing as seen on Karkand, and the single story building with the roof and the steps to the roof as see on Kharg Island.

One of the biggest disappointments in BF3 for me.

I loved C4'ing the crap out of buildings in BC2.

Wasn't it awesome listening to that rumbling sound just before the building crumbled and trying to get the hell out of there before you got squashed? :D

The only things I disliked were the fact that the battle-field was reduced to rubble in a matter of 20 or so minutes, leaving everyone to cower behind low cover and be utterly owned by tanks/helis. Also, placing M-Coms in destructible buildings was a bit pants.

re purchasing the game as in 39.99 for the game then an additional 40.00 for small dlc map packs etc, apparently its the way forward :)

Dont agree with your logic there......the game comes out at a set size like any game does with the set amount of maps they could make in that time frame.

As a developer you can do 1 of two things after its been released.....you can leave it as it is and then work on the next in the series (in this case BF4) while the players play on the maps provided.

Or you can have a small team that develop new maps and new content and then feed that out for a small price (£10 for each DLC pack) considering the cost involved in employing a team of devs to make those maps and content.

Developing games is a business....not sure why you think everything should given for free, as they have to pay for the overheads.

If BF3 had just come out and no DLC options added, would people complain that they arent developing new content?...course they would.
