Only recently started BF3 and am thoroughly enjoying it, looking forward to BF4 and will likely pick this up on release rather than wait so long again

Get with the times people, gaming has changed, consoles have changed it.
It's unfortunate, but damn, get with it.
And Battlefield 4 will be for the next gen consoles, so lets have some hope that they can lift a lot of restrictions that hamper the current generation to give us a better experience. Less QQ more pew pew!.

Those are not in-game screenshots, just some art in the development process at best.
To be honest, they COULD be in game shots.
This is being designed for next gen consoles, so we can expect a big jump in quality over Battlefield 3.
BF2142 was the first time i'd felt the need to OC my laptop back in the day just so i could play it. Must dig it back out and have a crack at it again

If dice do truly believe that their current artistic design is so good and sets their game apart from the rest then they won't change.
It doesn't matter what dice and ea do anyway, will probably release the same game just with different maps and updated graphics yet people will still throw their money at them and worship the game just like cod and their 'following'

Fact of the matter is, Battlefield 4 will be coming out on the next gen consoles, so there will be a lot more room to play with, graphically.
Has that been confirmed? That would be sweet if it is, we might see 128 player fights if that is true.

It's not about the number of player, it's about the concentration of player per square meter - and also how well the maps are made. 128 players on a double sized map form BF 3 is not much of an improvement.

48 player servers on BF:3 are better in my experience than 64 player servers.
I remember reading that it would be for next gen consoles, on IGN I think.
But it's pretty much a no brainer as it's not coming out until next year, and the new consoles will be hitting down before then.
Which is good news tho, as things like map size and graphics fedelity won't be held back as much as they are with the current generation.

I have read that the next gen console GPU's will be around equivalent to a vanilla Radeon 7770 (http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/147577-xbox-720-gpu-detailed-merely-a-last-gen-radeon), which if true, means these consoles will be gash. I doubt a 7770 could run graphics like those in the pictures at decent frame rates. Plus those pictures look suspiciously like real photos modified to look like rendered scenes, just like those old HL3 and Crysis 3 shots that came out years ago.

I want a WW2 BF game based on the new engine. Would simply be epic!
No better stage for warefare. The small WW2 level in BFBC2 was great! (Also the vietnam expansion wasnt bad either)

If its anywhere near that I'll finally have a reason to upgrade (other than gaining a few extra fps)
As mentioned the new console releases will hopefully allow developers to move gaming on (or at least back to where PC's were already at) plus they will want some major releases to help sell them. COD and BF should be a dead cert. CoD might even get a new engine .....

If they stick to that time frame then we might finally see a world wide release of a console in the ps4 to coincide with what is one of their big name games. That would make a welcome change for the UK.
It may not bode well for the actual game (thoughts of Cods crappy releases come to mind).
