Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Tank guns are useless anyway stulid. In general vehicles in this are a bit underpowered now. Take attack chopers, in bf3 they were way too powerful. Now theyre rubbish, some people will say thank god but for me personally its a loss for the game overall. Yes if dice could balance them properly, but they can never seem to find the middle ground. I sometimes wonder what idiots they employ, (drag of the street) to playtest their games.

I unlocked a belt feeder or something like that for the gunner LMG on a tank, yet when I'm in a Abrams for example half the screen is filled with this ammo box blocking all vision to the right hand side..can't see a thing.

I get the ammo box in the face bug if I've spawned in a tank and have the HMG equipped as secondary. Exit the tank, and get back in, and it goes.

Anyone know what todays premium event is? I hope it's not "like us on facebook for a better gun than anyone else has".

Happens to me, simple fix, press C for outside tank view, press C again to go back inside the tank. Simples

Yep.

Nearly poo'd myself when it happened the first time, thinking it was a deliberate thing. "Oh, you can have an HMG, bot not see where to point it."

Incidentally, you can get the same effect by having Marty Stonehouse riding the front of your tank like some kind of engineer-cowboy. His bum blocks exactly the same % of the view.

Some great games last night. Been playing only hardcore, loving it apart from the teamkilling. Then somehow ended up on a normal server and had one of my best ever rounds, maybe hc made me sharper.

the HMG for the tank is pretty useful. You can hit infantry from miles away and damage helis with it.

Just change to 3rd persion view and back again to sort out the box that obscures your view.

not as useful as Staff shells though. Back that up with Reactive Armour and your laughing.

Sabot + staff (ActiveP) is an armour hunting set up I like to run on Golmud. I stay away from A-B and hunt tanks/apcs/arty/helis. You can even take out the AA from across the map if they pop their heads out from their base camping. Getting very accurate with taking out infy with sabot too :D

Have you guys tried aiming, learning how to use the weapons or even what uses they actually have? The Engineer class is all powerful in BF4. HC is just a mess for vehicles and 90% broken for infantry in BF4, it was far far better in BF3.

Have you tryed reading, insulting someone when telling them to aim and learn the class, clearly since i was using the javelyn WHICH only fire when locked on i surely dont know how to aim !

Can any of you guys clarify something for me...

Am I right in thinking that IFVs have more health than MBTs? Was doing some testing yest and found it takes 3 c4s to take out an IFV but only 2 for the tanks. 4 AP rounds from an Abrams on the IFV vs 3 on a tank. All shots were to the front.

This seems utterly backwards to me.

But the point of battlefield is that the lock on weapons do less damage to balance it out.

If you want to deal more damage to a tank you need to

A) stop using lock on weapons and aim for yourself and

B) learn the locational damage that these non lock on weapons can deal. If the tank isn't running active armour, you can kill a tank in 2 RPGs if you know the way the system works.

Best anti-arour tips are:

Facing counts - a strike to the rear will do much more damage to most vehicles than to the front, some are also weaker on the sides and/or roof.

Angles count - a strike at 45 degrees will do less damage than one hitting perpendicular to the vehicle

People better than me know to sneak behind a tank before letting rip. People as good as me know this, but still spam RPGs at one as soon as we see it and end up dead. Don't be like me.

I've not noticed IFV's being harder to kill, but is there a chance the person on board had one of the armour upgrades running, whereas the tank didn't?

Support is actually very useful in bf4, I run out of ammo quite a bit. Also the LMGs are great. You can destroy (and protect) vehicles with Support class now too.

So to get my game not to crash I have to downclock my 780ti by 10mhz on core and mem.............................

This is a factory overclock and this is something that happens to a lot of people and only since the new patch.

What kind of ******** is that.

I understand you do more dammage from behind and such but whats the point when you do not have enough ammo to actually take out a tank then? ive even started to mine the roads with m15 mines and had a tank be stopped but not dead, and dont take this as moaning as such i just want to be able to kill the buggers, im a firm believer in fairness i should be able to given a certain amount of skill to kill a tank or jet or helicopter but this is not hapening either they kill me or chaff the crap out of my missles.

I am Called GHOSTxOFxDEATH if anyone wants to show me how its done then great :)

1 AT Mine is a mobility hit on all vehicles IIRC (stationary/massively slowed down), so 2 mines (or 3 SLAMS) is usually what gets dropped in my experience of being killed by them.

If you're lurking nearby you can drop one mine at a time and follow up with an RPG.

SLAMS can also be used as sort-of-C4 in that you can attatch 3 to a stationary vehicle, and when it goes over a certain speed it'll go BOOM.

Gunner on a tanks practically useless anyway, takes a stupid amount of rounds to drop infantry if they're any kind of distance from you.
