Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

I understand you do more dammage from behind and such but whats the point when you do not have enough ammo to actually take out a tank then? ive even started to mine the roads with m15 mines and had a tank be stopped but not dead, and dont take this as moaning as such i just want to be able to kill the buggers, im a firm believer in fairness i should be able to given a certain amount of skill to kill a tank or jet or helicopter but this is not hapening either they kill me or chaff the crap out of my missles.

A tank is a force multiplier. Therefore it supposed to be hard to kill it.

You can, as an infantry take out a tank single handedly without any skill, providing you can stay alive long enough to get your 4 MBT Law shots off.

You can speed that process up by using the free aim launchers, and then using the locational damage model to you advantage, (that doesn't work with the LAW)

You can kill tanks single handedly on both hardcore on softcore, just don't be suprised when good tank players can shoot you before you can finish the job, because thats the whole point of a tank, and why there aren't 30 of them parked at the spawn.

Rezident why, just why? HC is so broken in BF4. I used to only play HC in BF3 for 50% of my BF3 and there was at least some reason to do it as it was incorporated into the game. It seems in BF4 HC mode has just been tacked on in the end as an afterthought.

Well all game modes are broken one way or another. It just feels better being able to kill someone in a few shots in HC, as opposed to shooting someone six or seven times and them being absolutely fine, as in normal mode, it was annoying me. It makes the guns and weapons feel weak to me, like you might as well be firing paint-ball guns at them and hoping to wither them down eventually. Even in vehicles, I remember I was in the mobile AA I saw an enemy, so I start shooting him with the mounted gun. I am getting hit recognition at least seven or eight times I hit him, but no kill! On HC the mounted gun on a vehicle kills enemies as you would expect it to.

Only playing HC for the last few days so I'm no expert, and I'm sure there are problems with it (other than the teamkilling etc.) but it just feels better dropping people more naturally. I accidentally ended up on a normal server last night, sometimes you just have to hold down fire for ages, even with a high-rpm gun, it just feels a bit too arcadey for me, like one guy, even at point blank, I was shooting him for ages, it must have taken over 15 rounds to drop him, compared with 1-3 shots on HC it feels more satisfying for me.

It DOES feel a bit weird when the 25mm Vulcan cannons take 7-8 hits to drop a dude on foot. Possibly I need to be better at getting headhots quicker.

To be fair, you wouldn't see an A10 attempting to make precise runs on single infantry. The gun simply wasn't made for that kind of accuracy.

So although battlefield does it in a different way, its still forcing you into using the plane in its intended role, which is not for sniping infantry.

Talking about the mobile AA ground vehicle, blasting a guy from ~20 feet away, and we're talking 6-7 damage markers, not 6-7 rounds in a burst. I understand the potential balance reasons, it just feels weird to me.

Must get back to this tonight.

First, installing 780 Classified to see if I can get up to 1200 on stock volts (no overvolting as running with 780 lightning in SLI on air), so hopefully will have time.

Tomorrow is new years eve, so will have to go out or something :(

Getting fed up of the flare reload on attack heli's, literally useless flying them now, think I'll stick with the scout for now.

They did the same thing in bf3, originally the mobile AA absolutely raped infantry and considering the cannons it has attached it by all rights should, then for some reason they dumbed it down so it took a lot more hits and wasn't as accurate shooting at infantry. I don't recall seeing complaints about it on the battlelog forum so I've no idea why they dialled it back so much.

For bf4 they seemed to keep it the same as bf3 in terms of damage to infantry, you can really only drop infantry fast if they're reasonably close to you, any real range and you get multiple hit markers.

So, to those saying the 2nd seat gunner LMG is bad take a look at the stats. 125mtrs before min damage along side AR accuracy. What that doesn't take into account is tank movement which can be hard to counteract, also this has a high spread increase so you should only be bursting. Apart from that the gunner LMG is great.

To scotsdragon, I as not trying to be offensive but help you, you have enough RPG's / MBT LAW (mbt lowbob) to take out tanks, with the RPG's you have enough to take out two tanks. When you start locking with javelin we get a white directional locking warning on the tank screen showing your direction. So yeah, unless paired with PLD / Soflam Jav's are useless. Also Mines are useless as you have access to slams which can be placed anywhere and stay there rather than sliding down the smallest hill. Also the slams tend to glitch themselves so can't be seen :'(

I take it the limited edition is the one to go for on pc? It's currently £25 but reading this thread makes me wonder if its a bad move!

Do people not have performance problems with this game? I keep getting jerky movement when turning or running around with only 3 players on a small map. Yet in Battlefield 3 with 64 players on a huge map it's a solid 60fps with fluid turning/running.

No matter what settings I use in Battlefield 4 the fps and movement of the player makes no difference.
