I've been trying to get the commander assignments done in the last few days, and it's really brought home how atrocious most players are at working together. Almost all my orders are ignored, even if i put an order on a flag squads are already running to. And most squads are spread over the map on anything other than op locker - if a squad isn't working together, how can I as a commander make any sensible decisions about how to influence the battle? Do i drop supplies for the sniper doing something half useful when the rest of his squad won't spawn near him to do the same? Do people just not realise that accepting an order, even if they aren't going to do it, gets everyone more points, and specifically it allows the commander to give out more perks more frequently? (Don't get me started on people who ignore orders for the gunship or cruise missile flags in favour of taking a flag with nothing attached, or the enemy teams gimme flag which they will never be able to hold)

Any tips on being a more effective commander and getting the squads to actually work together? I've had maybe two games where i had a couple of squads working with me, on op locker CQL, and we had the enemy pushed back into spawn with less than 80 tickets down - it was awesome, but then really boring with not much to do for the next 10 mins.

The problem with most commanders is that they just spam the scan uavs in the area where the most action is, imo a good commander should use them where you have a few guys trying to cap a new flag I.e. On locker most commanders will just spam them on c :rolleyes:

I have only played commander a few times, it is pointless though for the reasons you have listed, no one follows them, they just do their own thing....

Only good thing is the cruise missiles and dropping supplies, vehicles etc. On camping snipers :p

Me and Joe holding the tower cos it was pointless trying to cap flags as were getting mullered. Good bit of fun and I think we could have held it forever but I ran out of ammo and was throwing some boiling oil and rocks down at the end :D Was dying to come down the stairs and teabag skeletor and netphreak but knew there was a few pesky snipers out there


That was Netphreak was it , a crazy quad driver doing doughnuts all round us , nice big explosions though , im sure at one point i saw a body go a few hundred feet in the air :p

I do nothing but watch the drivers back and sides when gunning. Mostly just watch to see where the drivers turret is facing and look the oppo direction. Had a bit of panic as I was overheating there when I got Netphreak trying the dirty c4 but luckily I spam Q constantly and you turned the gun round to take out 2nd guy.

Havnt used the mg4 yet might give that a go today. I also tried the l85 yesterday and it wasnt too bad. Need a couple more attachments to make it better but it has potential to be my number 2 AR.

Yeah my heart missed a beat when I seen these guys behind us planting c4, no idea how you two didn't get us as I think it only takes 2 c4 to take a tank out

It is an awesome gun, prefer it to the m249, looks and sounds better :p

Probably my favourite assault rifle that, beast!
 
So...what servers do you guys mainly play on? I have only had the game a few days. I am not that much of a hardcore player. But it would be nice to join a few people for a bit. (and also if the damn game doesn't crash!).

I played for a few hours last night blowing up tanks with C4 here and there. Often putting myself on the line. I cannot for the life of me fly planes or helo's. Always crashing them right away so I stay away. Tanks I have no problem with.
 
Nexus was decimating our guys on rogue so I took it upon myself to neutralize the threat with a jihad quad (or 4 lol). At one point I had just spawned on a quad and was adding some C4 to it and nexus rolls round the corner and kills me... Lol

If the quads didn't handle like complete crap then I'd maybe have a chance of getting close enough to bail and boom.

On a side note, the number of snipers at times on some of those maps last night was just crazy.
 
Doger, that tower tenting...I meant tactically holding was hilarious fun, out sniping snipers with my ACW :D

But don't forget our epic THIS IS OUR AIRSPACE on Hainen, 2 Jets, 1 purpose. Just thank **** their AA was **** and I could destroy him every time he came up. 120-6 over 3 rounds isn't bad :D

I remember that kill so well! :D I had just got you like 16 seconds before too :p As soon as I seen this support guy planting c4 on a quad, I knew straight away that it was you.

And yup, sniper galore! Always get a ton of snipers on the hills around D, largely why I like to stick around there :p

I think you were just lucky you had me as your wingman :D In all seriousness though I was poop just flying around hitting the scout a few times but not managing to kill it (the stealth jet has pea shooters). I did have a big dogfight with their stealth but we were both crap and he ended up OOB so i tailed off and got back in time ;) Ah , now i do remember one of my kills was flying into a parachuter , probs the only way i was gonna get a kill tbf. Helis are my thing not jets although i dont do much heli flying these days not since bf2 really
 
I'll be on for the evening for sure. Pls forgive me for going sniper for a few rounds, I want to unlock the sniper weapons and kits. Then I'm moving on to support.

It's such a gay class, but needs must. It's actually pretty easy to point up, in 4 rounds last night I think I scored 30k
 
Might pop on for more fun times tonight. Still annoyed I lost my tags twice kast night, both to front knife counters!

Balls, counter knife like Nexus is OP!
