Battlefield: Heroes [Video + Preview]

I dont think they will be that close tbh, I will prefer this I reckon. Funny thing is, its all a comedy enterprise but theres some serious new technology there like, player matching I'm interested to see in action
 
Problem? As you have to chose your allegiance when you create a character and seeing that this is free to all the trash talking, adolescent, glory supporting scum dogs, just how out numbered is Axis going to be?

Who's going to be Jerry with me?

PS. Starting to get quite excited about this!
 
The only problem is that its designed to run on PCs which are not even up to my standard. I don't have the latest but its a lot better than the average desktop. You would expect a game 3 years later than bf2 to have improved graphics.

That's the whole idea... Why do you think WoW is so popular, it'll run on anything. EA are going for the same approach here.
 
Yea I start to see their sneaky tactics!
They want this to be the most popular bf ever, if only 5% of people are going to actually pay out for this its going to have be mighty popular to justify the cost of a dev team, advertising wont pay that much as well unless they have the hits on their stats website or however they are going to be doing it.

It could still be good, if the engine is really flexible like half life 2 is, otherwise I look forward to running this with 16x AA and alt tabbing into other windows whenever I feel like it

Gamplay > Graphics!!!!

Id rather have fun than watch a movie...
 
I can see why they are changing to an advertisement based income cause I still play BF2 as my #1 game atm, and I only payed once for it.

5% paying customers is just a made up statistic though. I can see he means that us stubborn gamers who dislike paying for anything after we have acquired the game talk like we won't ever get involved with micro transactions, but I would bet that the real number of paying customers ends up quite different.

It is nice to know 16xAA isn't going to be a problem with blazing performance too :) From the screens I have seen, I'm rather impressed with the way it looks for a play on every machine game.
 
This game looks like a good one!
I never heard of it and by chance I saw it on GameSpot... Free Gaming is always good; to an extend and with a TF2 style of gaming (with planes?!) even better!

I am reserved on EA's idea of a Play 4 Free, it'll probably be like Gunbound, pay for special customisable items e.t.c and the adverts on logging in...
