'BBC considering ditching Legard'

I did wonder if Brundle was turning into Leggard when Schumacher came into the pits with a missing rear tyre and Brundle completely missed it. DC had to point out to him for reason for the stop.

Still after that I thought that the commentary was pretty good.

Good point this, I noticed it and wondered why they weren't saying anything!

Hehe, she used to watch it before I met her so there was no persistence or tricks needed. Just lucky I guess.

QUICK TRADE LIVES WITH ME! (every girlfriend iv had has looked angry and or confused over the mindless excitement towards F1)

On topic though, after a bit of reflection Brundle is having to get used to a whole new form of commentary, so he wont be perfect on the off. Between the two though they seem to bounce off each other better, so there was only one or two dead air moments, which in the old set up lead to all sorts of rubbish flowing out of Legard's mouth (more Alan Partridge style without the comedy).

By the end of the season we'll all be very pleased with the outcome as Brundle should slowly get into the lead commentator roll a bit more, but hopefully abandon the weird attempts to copy Murry that James Alan and Legard gave a go over the years

Another race, another few hours of really good commentary

Loving the new pairing more and more

It is a nice and relaxed, not overly excited style

Why doesn't one commentator look purely at the tv feed that we are all watching and comment on that, leaving the other guy to look at the technical/timing feeds. I'm sure thats the reason the commentators miss what's blindly obvious to the rest of us.

problem is that something that appears completely obvious to us can be easily missed when you've got about 5 screens to look at, as the commentary team does. They'll have a timing screen, maybe a driver tracker, the live feed and maybe 2 or 3 other feeds as well as the view outside commentary box.

DC was spot on when we saw Petrov trying for his pilots licence as i missed the steering breaking until he noticed it.

Certainly better than Aus (even though that was a good commentary in itself imo) - I think they are making a great pair (as I said when it was announced).

I like the way Martin asks DC some technical questions - even though majority of viewers realise Martin knows the answers himself :)

Same. :) I spotted that yesterday. I knew Martin was asking questions he knew the answer to but he was doing a fantastic job of acting as the lead commentator, representing the TV audience, and asking the "expert summariser" some technical questions.

I actually heard him on some YouTube videos last night, and the commentary made me laugh and wince at the same time.
